Hi,
We just recently adopted a rescued mixed breed dog named Chester. The story we got was he was dumped on the side of the road with his brother and they suspect he was abused. We're not sure what breeds he is, but personally, I think he has some boxer in him. He is approximately 10 months old, is a very sweet puppy, and we are really enjoying him, although he does need to learn some manners.
He has serious separation anxiety, he likes to chew and dig (typical puppy), and he likes to ram people when he is excited and playing. We have signed up for an obedience class this month and are anxious to see if it will help improve some of the problems we are having and, in the meantime, we are teaching him the rules of the house.
We've had him about 6 weeks and he's already house trained, crate trained, and bell trained. He knows the following commands: sit, crate, gimme five (and other paw), speak, leave it, off, and he knows the release word "okay" for going out the door, etc. He's doing pretty well overall and he's getting used to the chaos here with my husband, myself, and my three (human) sons.
I look forward to meeting all of you and your doggies.
Kim
