Hi everyone. My name is Liesza and my babies are Dingo, a 1 year old dingo hybrid who is exceptionally intelligent-she says 10 different "words" and knows what they mean. I adopted her as a 5 week old pup. It is not an unusual practice with wild dog breeds to wean them so young, although I do not advocate it, At least I know enough about the rearing of dogs to know how to care for the little ones. She has always been healthy and happy and is the apple of my husband's eye. We just added Minmei, an american pit bull terrier, to our family. She is just seven weeks old. I was uptown one day to pay our car insurance and met a lady in the back lot taking a big ol' crate of puppies into our local pet store. I stopped and petted and asked if she were selling them to the pet store. NO. She was giving them to them! I wish I could have taken them all to start up nice so they had a better chance for a solid family. I was glad to get Minmei. I wanted a pit bull so that Dingo would have a "littermate" that could take her intensity, and have always found the pitbull to be even tempered and rational, both qualities I insist on in a dog. We have had her for 10 days, she is the embodiment of a good tenacious terrier. We just love her! My burmese cat, Blackameowna, (yeah, I know) is 10 years old and has been with me from kittenhood. Tita is the proverbial "granny cat" and Piggy is getting up there at 9 years old. We rescued her from starvation last year, and will be taking her to a hooved animal sanctuary in Ohio this spring so she can be with others of her kind. I will post pics of my menagerie tomorrow.
