Hi there! A few days ago, my boyfriend and I were out renting a video and as we were backing up out of the parking lot, my boyfriend suddenly exclaimed, "Woah, what is that?!" We put the car in park and got out to look, and found a small, very scared, very cold, wet dog (it was misting out) waddling around and running into things. Our hearts just broke, especially when we realized we were the only ones caring enough to stop and do something about the dog. We carefully put him in a cat carrier (I have two cats) and took him to the emergency vet to see if they could do anything for the poor doggie. They looked him over, stating he was very hungry and dehydrated, and had cataracts and arthritis, but otherwise is very stable. We took him home and kept him shut up in our large bathroom (so he didn't have contact with the 2 cats I own already in case he had something the cats could catch). He slept through the night and didn't go to the bathroom unless we took him outside. We fed him, bathed him and kept him warm. We decided to keep him and that with a little maintenence he would be a happy healthy puppy (well he's old, but I still call him my puppy!). We named him Grim. He is a dark grey poodle mixed with something else, a terrier I think. However, he is beginning to whine every night very loudly and has urinated last night, only once, on his bed. We've got some work cut out for us!
