Hello all - new to here

Hi Everybody!

I divide my time between three continents but live for the most part in beautiful NSW Australia where I have Miniature Fox Terriers (hence 'Mini Foxie), a Border Collie, a Cattle Dog (love all dogs but particularly working dogs), several cats, a couple of horses, a couple of donkeys, and lots of wildlife including believe it or not some butcher birds who have become tame enough to handfeed!

I've just discovered Chazhound and am delighted to be here.

Welcome adn it sounds like you have lots of pets. WOW a butcher bird?? You can handfeed it, sorry I think thats cool LOL.

Yes, I love animals--can ya tell?

Yes, Dakotah--four butcher birds now! Dart, Arrow and Baby will hand feed, I haven't named the other one yet--still very shy.


The other day I didn't have any meat scraps, so I gave them bread for breakfast. They come back at dinner time, but were having none of the bread crusts. They just left it there, and sat perched on the chairs and railings on the back porch waiting for something better. Finally, Dart ran out of patience and came and tapped at the window until I came over, then continued pecking quite indignantly. I had to get out some bacon and open the window and he flew over at once and took it from my fingers, then the others followed suit.

Dart and Arrow will also fly around to the sitting room window and bang on it to get my attention if they're hungry and I'm not in the kitchen. They're pretty amazing.
