I wanted to get everyone's opinion on this one. We gave Megan a dose of Heartgard last week (her third one, and she's never had problems with the first two.)

We gave it to her in the middle of the afternoon, and she wouldn't take dinner. By nine or so in the evening, she started vomiting, and was sooooo ill for hours. I was literally heading for the emergency vet, when she stopped and perked up, and I settled for a regular vet visit the next morning. By then, she had taken some water and food, and was acting completely normal. A bit dehydrated, so we did an IV, but no sign of any parisites, obstructions, or anything. They gave us some Science Diet junk, but I never gave it to her since she was already eating some lighter, home-cooked food at that time.

She's been fine since that evening, but I'm terrified that it could have been due to the Heartgard, although the vet doesn't think so. I felt so bad for her. It couldn't have been her food since she was in the middle of a package, and she never did throw up any grass or anything. It was just bile and dry heaving over and over again. It was awful....what should I do? I don't want to hurt her again if it was due to the medication. What are our other options?

I stay with Interceptor and recommend others do the same. It's safer and covers more things than Heartguard.

It could be a coincidence, it might not be. Keep an eye on her and let us know!
