Im trying to come up with food snack ideas that are easy and simple that I can snack on all day long at work or whenever.

Right now I've been munching on almonds, but those get pretty lame tasting after a while.

So any ideas would be appreciated.

there are cocoa roast almonds that are amazing. There are other flavours too. Babybel cheese.

I have to say these days I am not prone to wanting to snack.

Bananas usually do well for me! They keep me really full
Tangerines, green apples, grapes and honey nut cheerios in a ziplock baggie are also favorites!

There's always raw veggies with something like hummus if you need some dip. Any fruit. Check out the natural aisle at the supermarket. They have all kinds of cool yummy whole-food snacks. I LOVE to munch on lightly sweetened granola but I have to watch out b/c I monitor my calories so I can only have limited amounts but it is by far my most favorite thing ever. Not big on granola bars, just loose granola cereal but I eat it dry, with no milk. And grapes. Yogurt. Greek Yogurt.

Cheerios are one of my favourites. I like the apple cinnamon or banana.

I love munching on carrots and cucumber spears. One of my all-time favourites. I like the English cucumbers, less of a watery center.

You could always flavour your almonds, too. I like to dip them in dark chocolate (individually, this takes forever, but when you just dip half of the almond in chocolate the product looks like a cute little acorn!). I like some flavoured soybeans too. At the art show my boyfriend and I did this year, these ladies were there with a ton of roasted soybean flavours. I like the spicy ones best!

I also love string cheese. Or a good cracker with laughing cow soft cheese wedges, so yum. The garlic and herb flavour is so ridonkulous.

I am also obsessed with cherries.

You might want to try:
- some plain yogurt with trail mix and a bit of honey
- roasted almonds with a bit of olive oil and kosher salt
- dry cereal
- toasted pita triangles with hummus
- dried fruit (mango is soo good)

Are you asking for eat-as-you-run snacks? Or sit down and eat snacks?

For a sit down snack I love a cup of greek yoghurt with honey in it.

Less messy, fruit slices and leathers are good. So is dried fruit. If you have any family history of osteoporosis, dried prunes do amazing things for your bone density.

Kippered salmon is good. So is smoked salmon and jerky.

Generally the only healthy snacks I eat are in the form of fruit (apples, clementines, grapes, cherries, etc etc etc) or yogurt. Dried fruit is good too, I loooove dried apricots. And trail mix. And granola bars.

99% of the time though, I only snack on unhealthy things.

Beef jerky, cheese, and almonds are my go-to snacks, along with occasional pork rinds. Almonds come in SO MANY flavors. Also other nuts - peanuts, cashews, etc. Sunflower seeds (takes work to eat them, which is good most of the time). Pumpkin seeds. 90% Cocoa dark chocolate.

I just eat a spoonful of peanut butter. Peanut butter is sort of high in calories though. Pickles are good if you like them.

I love this thread. Pregnancy has me so freaking hungry (Weird as last time I hated eating with a passion!) and I am so baffled. I used to liek to snack before but within reason. I don't want to gain a million pounds so I'm trying to figure out some healthy snacks.

They have almonds in different flavors now, too. I've had the salt and vinegar ones and they are really good! I usually hate almonds!

Carrots are good for snacking, the baby ones. I love those. Also cherry tomatoes.

call me crazy, but I will buy those Nori (roasted seaweed) packs that you'd use to make sushi and just eat the sheets by themselves. 10 calories a sheet, good minerals, and they give you something to eat. They don't fill you up, but if you're like me and just always want to be munching on something, they're pretty wonderful.

Other things I enjoy:

-fruit
-homemade hummus with carrots (super easy to make with two cans of hummus (one with juice, one without), a clove of garlic, 1/4 cup of lemon juice, a teaspoon cumin, a tablespoon olive oil, a dollop of peanut butter, and a blender!)
-green beans
-unsalted almonds

pistachios in the little shells...fun to work out with your teeth, lol, celery/peanut butter, carrots, raisins, all kinds of nuts, but if you're worried about weight, they should be small amounts, like 1/2 cup a day or maybe 1 cup, depending. They definitely have the tendency to put weight on. (Just ask me. LOL) I love nuts and have been creeping up in the amounts. Bad! But they're healthy as long as they don't make you get too heavy. You could take some blueberries that are frozen in a little thermal container. They're very good to snack on and healthy.
