Funny I just saw a thread on here about this a few days ago and today in a professional rag there is an article on this latest fad once popular in the 50's and 60's.

Anyway, as someone else pointed out HCG is a hormone that cannot be obtained by anything but a prescription. It absolutelly can NOT be sold OTC though many companies are claiming to be selling just such products.

There will be lawsuits soon I"m sure. Big companies named as being notified by the FDA as selling illegal and unapproved products included:
Nutri Fusion Systems
Natural Medical Supply, LLC DBA HCG complete diet
HCG platinum, LLC
Theroiginalhcgdrops.com
hcg diet direct, llc
and hcg-miracleweightloss.com

They also pointed out that the FDA does not regulate homeopathic drug products. The Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the US does maintain a list of active ingredients that do meet the criteria legal to be sold under the Homeopathic umbrella in this country. These HCG products do NOT meet those criteria and aren't even considered legal under the homeopathic umbrella.

I would be extremely wary of using any of these products. Wary enough I wouldn't subject myself to them

I had posted some info on the legalities of it (or opposite), as well as studies with findings contradicting the claims.

Regardless, yes, you'll lose weight on strictly 500 cals per day. In addition to malnourishment, you'll also gain much of (if not all or more) the weight back when you resume a regular diet.
