I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher a month ago. After we run it, we would open the door only to find out that the detergent tablet did not dissolve. The "door" that releases the tablet would be found open but the undissolved tablet will either be stuck where we put it or it would be sitting at the bottom of the dishwasher.

We are assuming that we can use detergent tablets because a free sample of tablets came with the dishwasher but maybe we should be using a powder or liquid.

Does anyone know what's causing this? Thanks!

Hmm. Didn't think about water not reaching the tablet. The bottom sprayer is working because everything is wet when done but maybe the rotating sprayer under the top tray is not working. I'll check that out. Thanks!

When I first read your title, I thought, "So fire him and get a new guy" :D

When we first bought our house, we had a problem with the dishwasher. The repairman said that those disolving tablets are the worst. Something about causing too much foam. I don't know, but we use the gel. Since yours isn't disolving, that's probably not your problem, though.

Water isn't spraying correctly and hitting the areas it's supposed to hit at the front of the washer. Might want to have somebody check the pressure of the water mechanism in the dishwasher. I bet if you used powder the same thing would happen only the powder would make a mess on the door from the steam.

I use tablets all the time and never had a problem with them dissolving, to be honest.
