I'm picking up the little dude in a few weeks and I'm hoping to agree on a name by then. I've gotten a few options to consider, but open to more suggestions.
I know everyone seems to want me to name him Han Xolo lol. I just would end up calling him Han for short and I don't like Han that much. So as epic of a suggestion as it is, I don't know that I want to name him that.
My boss thinks I should name him Kokopelli (coke-ah-pell-ee) and call him Koka (coke-ah) for short. I used to collect Kokopelli stuff when I was younger. Since our plans to move to NM sadly aren't happening now, my boss thought it might be a way to have a little "New Mexico" here by naming him Kokopelli. My only issue with the name is that I tend to like 2 syllable names. All of my other animals have 2 syllable names (Cricket, Bamm Bamm, Joey, Whiskey, Cyra). I also don't want people to start calling him coco and the shortened version is very close to coco. I hate the bird at my work and his name is coco... just sayin'
Another name I'm interested in is Itztli. It's pronounced Its-lee or can also be pronounced eets-lee. It's an aztec word and it means Obsidian. A lot of xolos have aztec names though... kind of a thing I've noticed in the breed. I know there are a couple other Xolos out there with this name... but it's still unique enough in this area due to the lack of Xolo dogs that it would work and it's 2 syllables.
I had thought about Pirate, but my husband vetoed that. My husband likes Remington, but I said meh to that. We can't agree haha. Ultimately he will be training to be my service dog so he is technically my dog, but I still want it to be a name that my husband is ok with.
Ideas? Any that you like in particular???
I've already posted photos of him, but just to jog your memory here he is. Standard size coated boy. His personality so far... he's very observant, focused, attentive. He's playful and super smart. Escape artist. Escaped the pen while I was there and not his first time. He's a strong thinker and problem solver. He seems to be pretty confident. No fear, but still a fairly chill little guy.
