I have been busy the last couple weeks, so haven't got on as much. However, it seems that there aren't near as many threads/replies when I hit 'new posts' as there were when chat was still going. Is it just a coincidence, am I imagining things, or can anyone actually state how much traffic there's been the last while?

It's also the middle of summer and I'm sure quite a few people are out doing stuff. Summers are always pretty slow.

Yeah we're missing a lot of our frequent fliers, and I don't know about everyone else but we've been pretty busy...except today, my errands got done by hubby. :)

Sooo I should go find myself a life, is what's being said? :rofl1: darnit, that's difficult work! lol
Even with working 12 hour days I'd often be able to pop into chat (often while eating dinner), then from that I'd quickly hear about 'hot topics' in the forums, so would have an idea what was going on.

With chat gone for now, and the temporary one not getting the traffic etc, I don't make the same effort to get on either as I used to.

Are there others that aren't on as much because of chat being gone?

LOL, well...he locked his keys in his truck, and I have the extra door key to it...so I kind of used that as leverage with the "you get to go to the post office and mail this stuff out, or you get to leave your truck at work overnight" lol - see, I'm a nice wife.

I don't really think it has anything to do with chat. I just attribute it to people being busy with non-internet activities. Summer tends to do that :)

I am just back online, the Mac quit again, sigh.... however, for me it is simply summer, and I am busy, and when I put in long days, I have too many other priorities... I have always been a winter poster, or when I was a regular chatter at another site, a winter chatter...

Summer is a busy time for a lot of folks.

Others join and/or leave dog boards here and there, but life goes on.

Uhm Snip, am I the only one that noticed there's a "chatroom" link at the top again? I just saw it I swear!

nah this happens all the time. it's just part of the ebb and flow of the forum. There is a period where you can hardly keep up with all the new threads and then there is a quiet period (usually summer).

But... I actually haven't noticed it being that quiet around here. Maybe it's because I'm not able to spend quite as much time as usual on here right now

A lot of people who used to post very frequently have left in the past two or so months. Hoping they come back or we get some new faces!

Don't think it's much different than normal.

This things change like the tide.
