i got it yesterday morning and finished it this afternoon. part of me was sad to read it so quickly, but i didn't want to have it ruined for me by some joker or another posting a spoiler.
Pretty much why I read it so fast. That, and I really wanted to know the end, of course.

Too funny, Fran. :)

I think I'm going to go ahead & reread it again, but take my time with it (although I'm just a fast reader). Maybe I'll see some stuff I missed (like I did in 6th book....I saw comments the 3rd time through that I never took notice to & that book basically told the end in the beginning ;) )

My mother is picking it up for me on some of her errands she is running today, I have to say I am very excited/sad to read it. Its been almost a decade since the first book was published... its hard to let something that has been a part of your life for almost 10 years go. *sob* LOL.

Its a magical tale and I hope the 7th book doesnt dissapoint, but from what you all say, it should be a very well ending to a very well written story.

But man, I was so mad! I was reading the first book only to discover it was a misprint! It jumped from page 114 back to page 87, and then from 114 straight to 157! I had to take it back to the store and exchange it for another copy.
You should have held on to that. It will be worth some $$$ some day.

Ends up I had to go and pick it up myself, went to Sams Club ( like Cosco's) and got it for $18 something but with tax was a even $20. I have it sitting here and am waiting for all the dogs to potty and be done for the night so I can settle in and read it.

I almost dont want to because its the end of it all... Im really not sure I am ready for it to end. HP was the book I read staying those long nights in my grandfathers hospital room with him, I remember in my sadness being able to read the 1st book and taking some of my worry away meeting the oh so interesting characters of JK Rowling.

I got it and read it the day it came out... but I'm reading it again now more slowly just in case there were little details I missed. I wanted to read it fast so I knew the ending, and no one would spoil it for me.
My brother read it after I did, and he keeps telling me he was very disappointed. I can't for the life of me see why. I enjoyed it. My family laughed at me because I cried when my favorite character died in the 6th book. They didn't even know how to react when I balled a couple times in the 7th book (LOL) too sensitive, I guess.
The only thing I would change is the epilogue - I was just curious about there careers ;) but I guess I'll never know . . . :p

Anyone here that some of the US versions are missing about 30 pages? Somewhere after page 70?! I'm glad I have the British version, but I think I'm going to (somehow, I don't know how yet) get the American version just for show, because its prettier & it goes with the rest of my books. :D

OOohhh yeah & I finished it! It was good. But yeah like someone already said... why did they have to kill my favorites!?

Ahhhh.......but I personally feel it was ended that way for a reason. Although the author said she is tired of the series and is done for good, she left herself a GREAT door open to at least one more book if she decides to do an "encore" for the readers.

I read it in two days, I can't sit still long enough to make it one sitting. Like many of you, I read it so fast that I'm sure I missed out on some stuff, so I'm going to have to go buy my own copy and re-read it at leisure. I borrowed this one from my friend.

Yeah, I was curious about some more details in the epilogue as well.

JKR has made herself hoarse telling people there are only 7 Harry Potter books, but maybe she'll write another text book like Quidditch Through The Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them that she wrote for charity events. I think it would be great if she threw together a book including things from her notes, background information on characters that never got to be included, etc.

I think there was a rumor about her writing like a dictionary or something? That also included character's past?? *did I read that rumor on this board? haha*

Every Flavor Bones

Hee hee.

I just caved and bought my pup some Every Flavor Bones...and then I had to get a few Dogwarts Greeting Cards.

How freaking adorable are these things?
