Harrison slipped his collar last night on last out and went after a cat. :( I he chased him as far as I could, but I'd already taken my nighttime medicine, and I couldn't keep up with him and he rounded a corner and was gone. I slept on the porch until like five in the morning, before I woke up and basically crawled in the house.

I stopped at the firestation up the street, and they said they'd seen him last night, he apparently ran through their bays when they were coming back from a call, and they said it was around 1 am, so he was definitely still in the area at that point, but no one else I've spoken to has seen him.

I made flyers up, and took them everywhere I could. I've basically blanketed the town in flyers, including putting some on mailboxes, but it's misting/drizzling out now and I have no idea if those will survive :(

I walked around until three am tonight, and he's got a bowl full of food on the porch with a motion detector in front of it, so I'll hear it if he comes back in, and it only rings inside the house. I've got it set as loud as possible so even if I don't wake up, my mom will hear it and wake up.

I'm going to have more flyers made up tomorrow, since I've already put out fifty. I'm probably going to have another fifty made up.

I would call a pet detective, but I don't think I can afford his fees. I've offered a reward on his posters and put that he's been microchipped on there as well (THANK GOD).

I may be able to borrow one of my TDs dogs that's already trained to track, but I don't know if they'll track dogs or just people.

I'm going to go tomorrow to all the vets offices around the area, and give them flyers. I'm hoping beyond hope that he just comes home. The dispatcher at animal control couldn't tell me if a dog had been picked up last night during the day, but she said that they scan for a chip on intake, and if he was picked up, I would be called within a day. I'm planning on going up there tomorrow or Sunday at the latest, but I really really hope that he'll be home before then.

My mom wants me to go with her to pick up a refrigerator tomorrow, but I don't think that I'll be able to leave the area. I don't know how far he could travel, and if I need to start putting flyers out in the next towns over or not. :/ One town will be easy, but the other is a much larger city, with very few places they'll allow posters to be put up. :/

And prayers, vibes, goodwill, whatever, I would SUPER SUPER APPRECIATE IT.

Thanks guys. I'm just absolutely sick to my stomach, and I'm wishing they'd release that GPS microchip already :/

I've considered the GPS things that clip to their collar, but it wouldn't do any good, as his collar came off when he backed out of it. He'll be wearing a martingale or harness from now on.

Check FB to see if there is a "lost dogs" page for your state or city. I've seen amazing things happen on ours. Good luck, I'm sorry this happened.

LOTS of good vibes. After having recently lost (and found) Cynder I know the gut wrenching feeling that goes along with it. All the thoughts and vibes that he comes home safe and quickly!

Sending all the vibes!!!!! Wander home Harrison!

I'm sure you know the drill so I don't want to sound patronizing at all. But Don't forget craigslist, too.

All the vibes!

Also, +1 on finding your local Lost Pets Group on Facebook. Everyone is on social media these days; it connects so many more people so much faster.

My last 5 friends to have lost a pet ended up getting them back based on online posts.

I really hope you're reunited with Harrison soon! It's hard not to get discouraged but don't lose hope that he'll be found.

Sh** I was hoping it wasn't your Harrison when I saw the title. Any updates? Let me know if there's anything I can do.

Have you posted this on Facebook yet? If you post a public status I can share it and see if I have any FB friends in the area.
