That's cool the dog was reunited with the original owner. It shows that a microchip works. It is also a good reason to have some kind of law requiring every vet to scan for a chip when a dog comes in for a visit. This would confirm rightful ownership. With a law like that Muffy would probably have been home many years ago. The way it is now it is only by chance that a microchip gets scanned.
