Hair loss around eye

I've been noticing some hair loss around one of my dog's eyes. That eye has also been a little runny lately, and the discharge has been either clear or white. I've done a bit of research and have read about everything from mange to allergies to cancer.

The rest of her coat is soft, silky, shiny,and thick like it always has been. She does have a TON of allergies. Food allergies which cleared up once I started her on home prepared food, and also inhalant allergies that are always horrible this time of year.

She already has an appointment to see the vet, but I was just wondering if anyone here has any input. Thanks a bunch!

I've never experience this with any of my dogs though I have seen other dogs with hair loss around their eyes and it was due to allergies. Hopefully the vet will figure out what's causing it and an easy treatment will fix it. Keep us posted on what the vet says.

The hair loss could be from rubbing....let us know what the vet says .

I just got her into the vet yesterday, and she said it was just allergies and nothing to be seriously worried about. I got some eye drops for the inflammation/itching, and she should be good to go once the pollen goes away Thanks for your replies. I feel SO much better now..I worry about her too much
