Hello All. I just found this forum while trying to find some training information online, and appreciate the opportunity to join.
I've been dogless for a number of years, but recently (a month ago) adopted two female Brittanys from a rescue organzation. They're great girls, energetic as the day is long, and want to please. We have some issues (I listed them in a post under "training" in the hope some of you will have golden words of wisdom that will make the issues all go away overnight), but there's nothing mean or nasty about them.
So far, they're nameless. Yeah, I know, "bad caretaker." They came with "Sugar" and "Spice," but I can't see myself calling that out in a dog park. So far, the leading contenders are:
- Lucy and Ethel (But both have "Lucy," not "Ethel" traits.)
- Copper and Penny (They're copper and white)
- Una and Dos (Ok, not creative, but easy)
- Gus and Woodrow (Either you recognize the names or you don't)
- Smirk and Tripod (One pulls her lips back in a smirk or snarl when she's actually asking for affection. The other daintily lifts one hind leg when she, er, squats.)
I'm open to comments or ideas. And I'm looking forward to reading everyone's stories and ideas as these girls and I get to know each other.
