Well I have no problem admitting it, but here are the breeds that I love but wouldn't want to own.

Maybe sometime in the future... but would be an enormous hassle now:
Presa canario

Karma chica & the Kids pics 4/2010 (lotsa pics!!) - New General - All - Working Presa Canario - Message Board Yuku
BAH!! lol she's great. She's owned by Grejon Kennels. But I have no use for such a mouth and am not in the position for a beast like that, sadly.
APBT
American bulldog (ditto the Scott lines)

Breeds I like but I don't think I'd own:
Papillions (guess where I got that from)
LH chihuahua (see above comment)

Breeds I don't want.
Labs!!! So fun lol but no. I'd love to foster one!!! (I think I'd love to foster everything below with the exception of the dane)
Greyhounds!!!
Ibizan hounds!!!
Berners!!! love'em.
Rat terriers!! they're funny little things.
Harlequin Danes are neat looking but I'd never get one.
Border collies... you gotta appreciate a nice bc.
ACD's are pretty great.
Kelpies
Coolies

I think that's it!

I LOVE English Bull Terriers and Huskies, but I think both are too much dog for me. Maybe some day when I am waaaay more experienced and my kids aren't so demanding. lol

I don't think I have any guilty pleasure breeds. I really love Rottweilers and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I mean love, love, love them, but I probably wouldn't own one. I don't think I suit them. I also really admire the Saluki, but again being realistic I'm not sure I'd suit them.

Dog breeds that I will own one day (hopefully):

Papillon
Tibetan Terrier
Hungarian Vizsla
German Shorthaired Pointer

Possibly...
Miniature Poodle
Schipperke
Whippet
Jack Russell Terrier
Wirehaired Pointing Griffon
Swedish Vallhund
Italian Spinone
Brittany

Everyone I know makes fun of me for being a sighthound lover. They go "EWWWW" whenever they squee about cute puppies and I respond with photos of Salukis or Borzois. But whatever. They're stunning dogs and the less for them means the more for me.

Labradoodles--the wirey-haired ones. And (not a breed), but "silver" labs--and dudley labs. I'm a bad, bad lab owner.....:D
Labradoodles are SO common here. And one of our clients is a "silver" lab, he's just a really weird brown colour to me, and NOT well structured (they're breeding him too ugh and my boss is adamant that we say nothing in hopes of keeping business).

I want a Pit Bull, but i'll never have one. I like having more than one dog and i don't want to get a pitty with the intention of making it dog friendly and having it be aggressive and me having to give it up. Not fair to the dog.

Mandy, same here I would love to have a Pit Bull, but the amount of camping and traveling and being around other dogs would not work out if the Pit turned out to be DA. Maybe someday far far away a non DA Pit will come into my life and we will live happily ever after :p
I might key word MIGHT adopt a Pit someday down the line that does not show DA, but then I would have to persuade Tyler. He really does nto want one for the same reason because of the DA.

Eh, I have no shame. I own chinese cresteds. ROFL.

Seriously though, I think the dilute doberman are gorgeous. I wouldn't seek one out except for rescue one day maybe.

Actually, all the ones I've seen a very attractive-I like silvery colored critters. I can't see myself buying one from a breeder (same with the labradoodle), but i'd definitely look for one in rescue at some point.

My guilty pleasure breed is the bichon. :) They're so happy and outgoing, and awesome at "circus" tricks. I'd even like to learn how to do the grooming myself. But they're seen as dogs for rich old ladies to carry around... so when I tell someone that I want one, they immediately think of that. I'm hoping that one day I'll get to train one as a hearing dog, I bet they'd be good at that (and they're suprisingly not uncommon around here).

I kinda have a guilty pleasure? I don't mind keeping it a secret at all, but some people find them just so ugly and can't understand why I think they are adorable.

Clumber Spaniel:D<3 I find them QUITE adorable....

Now here are some dogs I am GOING to own someday (beware: there are quite a few! lol):

-Vizsla (in a few years! yay!! :D)
-Fox Red Lab
-Boxer
-Brittany
-Pharaoh Hound
-Weimaraner
-German Shorthaired Pointer
-Papillon
-Flat Coated Retriever (though the health issues have me more on a "maybe";))

Dogs that I LOVE, but probably would not own (or own again!)/a maybe:

-APBT (I *love* Rebel, but I really don't think I could own another Pit... Of course, I'll probably change my mind because they are quite addicting! :p)
-Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (They are SO adorable, but have WAY to many health issues for me...)
-Siberian Husky (OMG!!! LOVE them... so beautiful, but I don't think I'm the right owner for them:rolleyes:)
-Great Dane (I've considered them many, many times... but again, the health issues and short lifespan keep me from owning one)
-Basenji (Man, they are just stinkin' cute!! I've never read much about them, so I have no clue if they would fit me or not;))

Those are pretty much all the ones I can think of, that are kind of a "look, but don't touch", as of right now... well kinda, considering I have an APBT right now! lol :D

I think Bichons are a seriously underrated dog! My friend has one and she is exactly as you describe. I would not imagine they would have trouble being training as a hearing dog... or really an other pursuit that they are physically capable of. And quite willing to play bed warmer/couch potato after a long day. :D

Bullterriers! I just love them so so much. I just can't have one and have my little guys at the same time. I won't take the chance.

St Bernards!!

Bf wants to own one really bad when we are moving to a bigger place.

Of course I have to do all the cleaning that comes with them, so I am a little bit reluctant ;)

And I would love to have a Pomeranian one day:p

I didn't put the breeds that I will own... so I will now.

Chinese Crested(maybe as soon as this summer)
Xoloitzcuintle
Italian Greyhound (once I don't have young kids since they are so fragile)
Toy Fox Terrier
Wire Hair Fox Terrier (had one growing up and loved him to pieces!)
Long Haired Chihuahua
Black Long Haired German Shepherd
Dogo De Argentino
Doberman Pinscher
Papillon(can't see myself without one now)
Saint Bernard
Newfoundland
Anatolian Shepherd (once we have our house and chickens)

There are probably a lot more that I can't think of right now.
