She is sooooo TIRED now.

Flirtpoles are AWESOME. Ever since Chazzers recommended me one for my bad hip days, it's been a life saver. Finn chases it, grabs it, tugs with it, wash, rinse, repeat. He adores it, and it tires him out when my hip flares up!

Yes, the flirtpole will most definitely be a life saver this summer!
I can tire them out a LOT faster than with their walks. My allergies flare up SOOOOOO badly in the summer, that if I'm out longer than 15 minutes, FORGET IT.

Yay tired puppies!

I need to make another flirt pole to take to FOHA (the last one got destroyed eventually). There are several non-APBT land sharks who I think would enjoy it. I mean, it has to be more fun to play with than my flesh, right??

I know that Nolu's Middie enjoys the flirt pole too.

How do you make a flirt pole?

Go to Lowes and get some PVC pipe, I think the smallest you can get it is 5 feet, which is about the right size. Also get some sturdy rope, duct tape, and a washer. Snake the rope through the pipe and the washer, tie a good, big knot in the rope so it can't go back through the washer, and wrap a nice covering of duct tape around the washer and the pipe. Cut the rope at the other end so its about 2.5-3 ft long (whatever your preference), tie a fun toy at that end (securely), and you're good to go!

Got that off a pit bull forum. The last one I made lasted pretty long at FOHA before it was finally destroyed and thrown out. The materials are cheap to buy at Lowes, about 3 or 4 bucks total. You can try Home Depot, but I've never been able to find the length of pipe I want, I guess I would probably have to have somebody there cut it for me.

That is EXACTLY how we made our Flirtpole.
Ours has seen some wear and tear, though, because Ella used it, but it is still plenty usable.
