Apparently Nanook is our best guard dog for people. I'm up for a middle of the night potty break (dogs not me) and our neighbour is double checking the fence since Cody got into the yard. The other two see him and run over and figure out who it is. Not Nanook! She doesn't give a ****! She runs halfway down the yard growling and barking and stops. Springs around in fight mode for a minute and then runs back to a couple feet infront of me and does it again! Even after she hears Frank talk she doesn't care. She thinks this situation is just not right! Now she's passed out next to me on the couch. lol

Boris is the same way... One noise outside or at the door and he will be barking his lungs off. And yet he really loves people. It's annoying sometimes, but I'm not complaining.

Nanook is shaping up well, isn't she? Shiva won't let me go outside at night without being right next to me. Bimmer and Kharma go on ahead to scout things out, but it seems to be Shiva's job to be the personal bodyguard.

It drives Charley crazy sometimes, lol! He's got a bit of jealousy going on I think, lol!

She is something else. I think being with us all the time because of the heat is really good for her. The boys are jealous though!

A-w-w-w....she does sound like a responsible sort. LOL. What a good dog!

Shiva sounds like Lyric....hard to squeeze out the door alone. They are sure you are going to need them. LOL. "Wait! I'm coming. Don't go out there without me!" LOL.

anybody find that the gender has anything to do with the alertness..most of my guy dogs (except Charlie) have been pretty easy going in their approach..but the females are twice as cautious, and alert. It would make sense. I think mary's having pups made her the way she is..she is the all protector, communicator..always listening. Victor is getting more this way i think because he does what she does. I hope so because i wont have Mary many more years. I count on her completely to let me know if someone has stepped onto the property let alone be in the house.
