about 6 months ago or longer i posted on here because my husky was peeing in the house, we thought he stopped and i just had to clean up 3 spots, that didnt look too too old (not 6 months atleast) but hes doing it in this one room specifically.
i cant tell if its either he has to go out and no one is letting him out (im not around at night, and i work in the day so i dont know) or if its possibly cuz there are smells from our old dog (who we had to put down :( ) when she got older her bladder got weak and possibly left a couple spots there on the carpet. or if it could just be due to her smell possibly still being in the room.
he is good about going out and letting us know when he has to go out, he'll pace the house and let us know that way. again i dont know if he just isnt being let out enough. but either way its just in this one room.

any suggestions?

Funny you should bring this up now as there are 3 guys re-carpeting my house as I write!. I have 2 very reliable dogs who, for no apparent reason, began peeing all over the place. We came to find out that our house-sitter last Christmas brought along a friend--her puppy! That apparently didn't go over so well with the residents and they set about marking their turf (or maybe just letting Mom and Dad know what they thought of bringing another dog into the house). So I suspect it's about the other dog.

I'd pull up the old carpet and padding and throw them away. Then paint the plywood floor with some Kilz 2 (oil base) and recover. Good luck.

First thing would be a thorough cleaning. Either replace the carpet or but a whole bunch of Nature's Miracle (an enzymatic cleaner) and really load it on.

Then put the dog on a strict potty schedule so they are never in the house with a full bladder, crate if you need to when you are not home (or keep the dog in a bathroom or something without carpets). Make sure the dog is back into a good potty habit before leaving him alone free in the house. if you don't think he is able to hold his bladder then hire a dog walker or someone to come take him out. You could get a doggy door into the backyard if it's well fenced but that could be potentially dangerous (someone could try and steal dog while you are gone, possible for someone to get into your house through doggy door).
