Nee How! (I don't know how to spell it, but that is hello!)

It's 9.17am here, which is about 10 hrs time difference from the UK. I slept like a log last night tho, so up and about now, which is fab (waiting for jet lag to kick in!).

I'm just chilling in the flat whilst my brother and his wife make the epic journey back to the airport to collect my sister. Might take a wander later, but not entirely sure I fancy getting lost just yet!!

I've never seen so much construction! They just seem to be building everywhere here. The weather was hot and humid yesterday, with no breeze at all, so the pollution was hanging in the air... not fun.

But the cultural differences are fab. I could NOT live like this full time, I think this place will make me appreciate my space even more :D

I have also already smelt a vomit fruit though :p Yum..............

Looking forward to getting out and about and exploring the area, and we're off to Beijing for 3 nights at some point!! Already seen where we're going for my bday (locally) and let me just say.... it looks AWESOME!!! Kareoke bar. Only saw the reception too LOL. Nuts.

Oh... and I thought the Moroccans were insane drivers. Chinese win. One way street? No problem. Just drive up it the wrong way :D Other cars in your way?? No problem. Just weave in and out of them. People crossing the street? No problem. Just drive into them, and make sure you beep your horn to make them aware of the fact :D

Happy days!

Hahahaha I went to China for the first time in 10 years this year, only for 4 days. Your description sounds just about right hahahaha. The food is omg so so so so so so so cheap. We had a 20+ dish meal for 6 people and it costed less than 25 usd per person. With salmon sashimi, Peking duck and all sorts of amazing things. That's like £15! Sooo cheap!

Sounds like us!

The amazing thing is they seem have to less accidents than we do here in the US. I'm sure part of it is they don't really stop, get out of the car, swap insurance info for the "small" stuff ... they just beep their horn, flip you off, and keep on going!

How awesome! China is totally on my bucket list one day, but the trip to get there and the fact that I won't even be able to decipher their signs is intimidating.

Hope you have fun!

It's a long way. I was travelling nearly 24hrs in total. But that's nothing really when you think how far it is!! The signs also have English on them for the most part... And I've realised very quickly the language isn't that hard to pick up. And they're all really friendly!

Have fun!

And am I the only person who has absolutely no desire to ever go to China? It ranks right up there with North Korea on my "places to never go" list. Lol

I'll go you one better............I really haven't any desire to leave the North American continent! LOL My niece and her husband have been stationed in Italy for nearly 2 years and would LOVE for us to come stay awhile. Meh. I'm happy on this side of the world, tho I do love to learn of other places and cultures, I'm happy right where I am :)

Oh enjoy! It's on my one day to-do list for sure. I second the camera thing?

An acquaintance of mine visited China a couple of years ago and I spent a couple of hours going through her photos. She went to a traditional Chinese theatre and the costumes were, quite simply, amazing!! And the temples...

Hope you are enjoying yourself! I have a love/hate relationship with China, but it can be loads of fun if you know where to go and what to eat.

Make sure to visit the night markets!!

Ahhh durian. The "OMG is there a rotting corpse in this fruit" fruit. I do love it in a milkshake, though. :D

Glad you're having fun! China's on my bucket list.
