What does it taste like? :lol-sign:

I love green beans, and I don't know if it was because I was super hungry last night, but I saw an add for a Campbells GB casserole and it looked really good!

What does it even have in it?
I'm thinking about making it this thanksgiving..

It's cream of mushroom soup, greenbeans and the French's onions. The recipe is on the French's can.

Just had it for the first time on Sunday...I made up my own recipe (well, not really...i combined a bunch of diff recipes cause I couldnt find one that I liked)...it turned out awesome.

I just didnt want to make the Campbell's one cause it seemed soooo processed, lol (even though I'm sure its delicious too!).

Lemme know if you want my recipe!

I have had it once. A bite. I thought I was NEVER going to get the taste out of my mouth, lol!

Some people love it, though. I think it was those canned onions that made it so terrible.

ew yeah, I have never had those canned onions, but I took one look at the ingredients & nearly barfed...I refused to buy them, haha. My bf was a tad disappointed cause I didnt use them, but he agreed that my GBC was absolutely delicious!

The whole point of green bean casserole is the french fried onions for me. Love them sooo much.

I would try a few of them before you don't use them personally :D

I can't have onions, so I've had it without and it tastes quite spiffy that way too:)

My favorite green beans are the ones done Chinese style, or some variant of that. Why mess up something so good?

Or just pass the steamed asparagus :D
I make some killer sauteed green beans, even better than the Chinese ones. At least my wife and daughter think so!

It's yummy. I found a recipe to make a cheesy green bean casserole it's same ingredients just has cheese in it. I don't really like onions too well I'll leave them out or if I do add the onions I just put them on top.

Try this one. I got it online and used it for a recent party:

Green Beans
4 cans (14.5 oz each) Italian style cut green beans (can sub 5 frozen packages - 9 oz. each)
1 cup chopped onion (about one medium onion)
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Place drained beans in a large sauce pan. Cover with cold water by half (cover the beans and about half the height of the beans above it). Stir in the onions, olive oil, brown sugar and seasonings. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes to an hour. Taste for seasoning adjusting salt/pepper as needed. Drain the beans and spoon into a serving bowl.

It wasn't in the recipe, but we added some cooked and chopped bacon to the beans after we put them in the serving dish. It just screamed for bacon :D

Green Bean casserole is to DIE for!! I agree that the normal recipe is a tad processed, but until I can make friend onions like the ones in the can, that's the only way to go. DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!
