Personally I would dump the idea of registering her through the AKC and register her with the UKC instead. Being you plan on working her, the UKC favours and encourages dogs who are worked VS dogs who strictly show only. I find that at UKC shows, dogs who actually LOOK like they can do the job they were intended to do get put up over the "pretty ones" a lot more often than the AKC or CKC. When it comes down to it though, its all a matter of personal choice. Research the two registries and find the one that suits you best.

If you want to do conformation, I'd save my money and not bother showing this pup in UKC. UKC does support the idea of the working dog, but when it comes to the conformation end of things, it's harder to finish a dog in UKC than it is AKC. For one thing, UKC shows that allow Belgians to enter are few and far between. Also, they are shown together, which means she'll be competing against Groens and Tervs. She'll do fine in the ring with other working style Malinois, but she's not going to do very well against dogs bred for conformation. Not saying she can't finish, but it would be a lot harder.

For UKC : maldobe you said ..
Also, they are shown together, which means she'll be competing against Groens and Tervs.
I'm assuming then they are recent imports.
Who judges those events, you have names? I'd like to research the judges and see what they prefer.

I also noticed in the AKC shows I've browsed around locally, the Mal is few to enter, and Granduer is a puppy puppy compared to them all if we was to show up one day, I think .. if I train her right, she would look really nice out there. But working line of course. I think she's growing up nicely.

Also, can I Reg. UKC for Sport and AKC for Show and still do my IFCS stuff?

Also, does anyone know if the set up of UKC or AKC dog shows, is that similiar to horse shows .. as in there are a few shows a year that you can get enough points to enter nationally, instead of going to little shows all the time?

Thanks.
I'll post her video's soon. I want to make a movie out of all the clips first.

Ok, I took more pictures today .. what do you think? The motion pictures I need to work on, the ones I have now are DivX and need to be converted, so bare with me.

How are these pictures of Granduer, are any of these ok to send to AKC and UKC, or do they need to be pro?

She did really good today concidering it's hard to keep her still. LMAO

She's a vicious digger, so this past weekend on the beach she wanted the clams more than us. She loves clam fishing.

Watcha think?

I know next to nothing about all this AKC and UKC showing stuff, but I just wanted to say that I think she's beautiful. Nice pictures. :)

Thanks for the comments. :D

That's her down stay. Sara of course was pesting her the whole time, but she stayed put and focused till her call.

Ohhh I can see her daddy up and down in her face and eyes, I love her.

I'm assuming then they are recent imports.
Some are imports, some are American bred.

Who judges those events, you have names? I'd like to research the judges and see what they prefer.
You'd have to look on the UKC website, they have upcoming shows and also what judges are licensed to judge Belgians. In some areas they have UKC shows that Belgians can show in on a semi-regular basis, at least a few times a year. In other areas there are basically none.

I also noticed in the AKC shows I've browsed around locally, the Mal is few to enter
Malinois entries in AKC shows tend to be fairly small, which means it doesn't take that many dogs to make majors.

Also, can I Reg. UKC for Sport and AKC for Show and still do my IFCS stuff?
The various registries don't care who else you are registered with, or what you are doing.

Also, does anyone know if the set up of UKC or AKC dog shows, is that similiar to horse shows .. as in there are a few shows a year that you can get enough points to enter nationally, instead of going to little shows all the time?
The UKC and AKC website explain how the shows work. But basically you have to beat a certain number of dogs and earn a certain number of points (points based on how many dogs you beat) to earn a championship. Qualifications for an invitation to larger events (Eukanuba, Westminster, etc) are based on total points, so even after the dog finishes people continue to show them to build up points, and increase their standing in the breed, to try to get an invite. This can all be done by going to local shows if there are enough of them in your area.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL dog. I don't know anything about the breed. I've seen a few, but never really looked much into them. What kind of disposition is common with the breed? What kind of work are they usually bred for? What differences do you see between foreign bred verses American bred? I'm curious about the breed. I'm getting a Toller... but I still like to learn as much as I can about every other breed out there... just cause I LOVE dogs. =)

Thanks for the info malndobe.

To keep it simple and without disagreements I'll just tell you about Granduer. Her disposition is that of no other. She's a love sponge, velcro, fast as lightening, very demanding of things, she has controlled aggression, her fight drive is off the wall, not too much play drive... but it shows seriously now and again if there's water involved  very very very serious with everything she does and gives it her all everytime. She has the heart of a race horse .. something I wish the horses had 1/2 the time. :p

She loves the water, we take the dogs scouting horseback (minus Nemos) 25 miles up stream and we canoe down and she would rather swim the whole way than stay in the canoe. Sara's the same way. Nemos tires out after 5 miles.
She is excellent with children, she loves everyone, but has a problem with strangers being close to me or Christopher. If she meets a stranger away from us she's fine and happy tail wagging and wants pets and kisses, if they come to be within maybe 10 feet she has a serious serious problem.

I cannot trust her with strange dogs, she wants to fight if they come close. She's ok if they are more than about 10 feet, but if they come over to us I need to hold her the other dog is in danger, this I see as a problem if I show her, so either I remedy this or stick to sports (a remedy doesn't look to be possible, I dunno yet). Nemos (Pit Bull) is the complete opposite, he loves all dogs.

Granduer is great in the house, she gets wild a few times a day bouncing around everything, but they all do for fun if I take too long of a break. If I hollar they settle down fast. About 5-8 months she chewed everything she could pick up in her mouth. She just stopped doing it one day and never since. We went through alot of shoes those month. LOL

She's very willing, easy to train and gives it 150% everytime. I swear she wants to beat the race horses during training. She tries harder than they do sometimes, she can pass a 1 mile moderate gallop or light breeze no problem. LOL I love her.

She loves food, loves life and loves her people. She needs to be the first in the house to give it a quick scope and the first out the door. I picked up my keys once and she blew out the screen door and got in the bed of the truck :yikes: happy as can be, the others just sat and waited for me to open the broken screen door. LOL

I fostered 5 Mals that were Academy rejects, they were american bred. Good dogs and they tought me alot, most their problems were training related. JMO. I just prefered to have the best of the best from the best stud and bitch .. that led me to Belgium.

If I had to rate all three of my dogs with hardness and attitude, Granduer would be number 1 Sara 2 and Nemos 3. Nemos mostly because he's hard headed and stubborn. Sara because she's a quick repetitive thinker with repetitive motions. Granduer with her seriousness and spirts of radicalness. And to be honest, of all three of these dogs, the Pit Bull would be the best for a novice to train. JMO.

Thanks for the nice comments.

Hmm... I'd be very interested in meeting one. She sounds like an amazing dog. She's absolutely gorgeous... I can't stop looking at her pics lol. I'm definitely set on getting a Toller... but I'd love to get out there and meet a few malinois. What kind of competitions do you usually do with her?

Mostly Rodeo 1/2 time show stuff for color ribbons and prizes, Christopher takes his horse and I take a dog or two, usually a weekend thing. I've never been to an AKC or such event with any of my dogs, one day I will.
I'd like to meet up with other first timers as a group thing .. I have one planned with a few internet friends after graduation in March for an FCI event with Granduer in a show ring... so I need to work on this remedy till then. If I can't remedy her, I'll still make the trip for a social weekend.
