We had Lucy put down today.

We had no idea she was so sick. She was acting a little bit more tired for the last couple weeks, but we figured she was ten years old, and she was starting to hurt. Its been bone shattering cold, and we just assumed....well. The last two days she was completely not herself. She just slept.

I took her in with me today, and we did a blood panel. Her kidneys were shot. Her numbers were so high they were off the chart. She was really sick, and in a lot of pain. The doctor said we could try giving her fluids, but there was a high chance that she'd be back in the same condition within just a few days.

We decided to let her go.

Lucy was *my* first dog. We got her when I was 16/17 years old. I don't know what to say...it doesn't seem real that she is gone. It doesn't feel real.

Lucy was a one of a kind dog....they broke the mold with her, that is for sure.

God, I can't type this right now.
