Max is improving, i walked him without any trouble, I played fetch with him until he got tired and he's starting to be a lot calmer around my son. he didn't even bark last night when i brought him in the house to sleep.:)

I also had a very deep concern Max hasn't really wanted to eat the dog food I bought for him, I mean he'll nibble on it but he dousn't eat - eat it, it is gravy train brand dog food, do you think its the brand, or do you think it might be something else, also i'm not sure, but i don't think it helps the fact that my grandad gives him tablescraps:confused:

they are ball if you get a few you can put his diner in them there is a maze inside so he has to push the ball around to get the food out (like his kibble) so he has to use his brain and work for his dinner , it might cure a little of his bordem since he has to push it in diffrent ways to get it to roll around to get the food to go through the maze

I know it seems weird that Max is learning so fast but i'm not making it up i've never had a dog this smart, that could do exactly as i want him to. it amazes me. I really am worried about him not wanting to eat his dog food, i'm going to try a different brand and i'll keep everyone updated as soon as i get a chance

look on the food forum and definately look at Mordy's site. gravy train is not a good food. As for him eating it, you should pick a high quality food and stick to it. In the morning, Put the food down, give him 15 minutes to eat then pick it up. Whether he eats it or not. Do not give him any more until the pm feeding. keep repeating this, and you should have a dog who will eat his food when you give it to him.
Border collies are extremely intelligent dogs, which is why they get into trouble when they are bored. you must keep their minds and bodies well exercised.

yes definetely try switching brands. Some good choices are Innova (website naturapets.com), Eagle Pack (eaglepack.com) and canidae (canidae.com). They should be able to help you select the best formula for your new dog and find a store nearby that sells it. Or you could order offline because there is not much of a price difference, if any. It may seem like the food is expensive but you actually will feed less then you are of the gravy train or any other grocery store brand so it makes up for it. Plus less poop to clean up as well and your dog will be healthier and happier. I'm glad that he is starting to become so smart for you, but be careful he doesn't start causing mischief.
