Well, the first good news was, Penny is ready to breed tomorrow.

Then the bad news. The stud dog owner could not get him collected in time to ship the semen so it will be here in the morning.

The best good news is, I'm packing my van and hitting the road, and it's GA or bust for me.

I'll be back with updates a plenty on Friday afternoon.

The first breeding was today. Everything went very smoothly and was uneventful. The collection, in the words of the vet, was "outstanding" in both quality and volume.

Having seen this dog in the ring numerous times, I was not prepared for his CHARISMA in those close quarters. This dog filled the room with his presence, not in an intimidating way, but his confidence is palpable.

He is very charming and sociable, and Penny ADORED him. LOL

We decided to do a second breeding tomorrow. I will be back home later tomorrow evening.

And do you all know what today is? It is the anniversary of D Day. What an auspicious conception date. I have been rubbing her belly off and on and telling her to make me 10 gorgeous babies.

Keith is thrilled with her. He felt this breeding should produce awesome temperament, heads, bone, substance, and....movement.

:D

How will I EVER wait 30 days for an ultrasound???

Ok. 2 days, and 822 miles later.....

The second breeding today was just as smooth as yesterday. Today I had a few minutes to visit with him in the waiting room beforehand. What a sweetheart.

His photos do not do him justice. The headpiece is beautiful, with beautiful broad topskull, nice size ears and correct earset, and the only thing I can think of to describe his muzzle is massive. Not overdone, but so powerful.

The bone and body mass are outstanding. This dog just fills a room simply by being in it. I can't think of any other way to describe it. He snuffled and gently lipped treats out of my hand, and grinned real big with tongue all out for me to scratch his ears.

Then he is all business in the next room. OMG. He walked in, took a sniff, and BAM. LOL

So now I wait. I admit to coddling her already.

I had seen him in the ring. Several times. He is so put together I did not get the impression he was as massive a dog as he is.

I just went WOW again each time I saw him. LOL

And so sweet. Both collections were outstanding in quality and volume. I'm betting we have at least 10 on board. :D
