I think the only pissing contest people are going to get into is how much they will wet themselves reading this statement. Do you even think about what you type before you post it? "An entire college dedicated to the teaching and enchancing of art skills is no match for a couple of classes?" WOW. Just...excuse me while I go change...and find some aspirin. If you're such the "photographer's daughter" then it's a real shame none of daddy's talent rubbed off...

APBT Danno, so sorry to continue derailing your thread. I'll just flat out say, don't listen to a thing this person posts ever, anywhere, about anything, but especially not about art.
so no all of a sudden my opinion does not matter??? WTF??? why is it that everytime i give advise it means NOTHING, yet, everyone on here can give advise and it is written in stone??? why would you tell people not to listen to what i have to say, but bow down to your words or others?? what makes everyone on here so much better than me. all i do is give advise on what people ask, or answer questions on what people asked and now, i am told that no one should listen to me??!!

that to me is not right, what makes you guys all so great> i mean come on you are all the same people who DO NOT BELIEVE in vets opinions, or those who have had actual licenses to do things ( such as vets, or FDA or what have you)

you know what, for at least the next few weeks i think i am taking a break from this place, i am soo tired of people on here telling me my opinion advise or suggestions means nothing, yet, everyone else on here is written in GOLD!!!

the one and only reason i joined chaz is because i wanted to get to know how others took care of their dogs and what kinds of dogs they had, but, more recently i have had TONS Of you tell me to STOP having kids, get a divorce and wake up from reality!! news flash for ya all the INTERNET IS NOT REALITY!!!

SO I AM DONE I AM DELETING MY ACCOUNT FROM HERE ON OUT AND WILL NOT BE ON HERE FOR A LONG WHILE!!

If only you guys could read my thoughts. I think much more vulgar things then I post. I have a real potty mouth when I get started. I try and keep my postings PG. I land up deleting most of what I originally intend.

Ummmm to use brown backgrounds on a brownish hue is jsut plain stupid.

Im a practical photographer from a practical photography family. I come from a generations of photographers. Most of my manual equipment is 2+ generations old and I have the newer stuff. I was taught from day one how to shoot film. And yes i did take classes too and IMO the photo teachers I had knew jack crap. Before I could even touch a camera in my family I had to learn the dark room, then once I perfected that I was THEN and only THEN able to use a camera in certain instances. I was taught how to use the light you have, make your own directed light, take natural pictures and most of all to capture the feeling and art side of the picture.

And Im sorry but a regular college is no match for a art school ;) Try again there.

Now onto a VERY WELL DESERVED compliment. That dog is absoulutly gorgeous APBT Danno. Do you by any chance know his lines? Those pictures to me capture all sides of the APBT personality which in it self is a feat. I gotta say the reddys always will have a special place in my heart. And you protrayed the REAL red copper, brown color of a Red APBT!!!

GREAT JOB!!!

I really wish you all would just take this to a new thread. I'll even make one for you guys if you'd like. I hate to see a thread about such a lovely subject (Kadin's pics) be clogged up by all of this. :( Plus, I think it might do better in a new thread, where those interested in photography can actually see it and have a somewhat intellegent discussion (AKA flame war  ).

Ding-dong, the troll is dead! : D

Maybe the internet is not a reality to people who lie and do everything in their power to cause drama... but it is to honest people who are here because they truly love dogs and actually want to learn and share good advice. Just sayin'. Oh, and, as far as your "constructive" criticism regarding the AWESOME pictures of Kadin - people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

I think the pictures of Kadin are STUNNING, and I'm sorry your thread was hi-jacked, Danno. I love the contrast of the dark background. A lot of photographers have to work to set up such an awesome shot. ; ) It helps that your model is adorable... his eyes are amazing.

I honestly LOVELOVELOVE those pictures!
I could only WISH my camera (which cost $164 more dollars than yours, Danno) could take such pics! I mean, it might be able to, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to make it!

And, honestly, I think some of the most PERFECT pics are those that are unplanned or imperfect (perfection is a matter of opinion). Whatever happened to the "artistic accident" in art? Since when is art limited and always intentional???

Wow stunning pics. I love the sharpness! I love the way the colour of his fur, and they depths of his eyes are right there, like I could touch him. Stunning dog too. I think this forum needs more Kadin pics!!
One of my fave pics of Dekka is similar..Though I find the background a bit distracting. I too just took the pic cause it was there..point and click. Yours is much better IMO without the distacting background.

Those are great shots. The contrast between light and dark is outstanding.

Gorbeous shots!

The solid black background is just what these needed, imo. Anything else would detract from the subject. It is simple and very artsy. The best art is spontaneous and just comes. Anything else can look forced.

Now should I start listing my art and art gallery experience to prove that I can say that?

Just kidding.

What I mean to say is those are awesome pics of a very handsome dog. Good job! :D

More pics are needed, I think. ;)

I saw them when you first posted them, but, wasn't able to respond. They are gorgeous! :) You really should post more, and your dog is beautiful.

Something people *should* keep in mind is that these gorgeous pictures were taken with NATURAL light. Natural light isn't always easy to work with because it's not perfect. But I do keep coming back to these pictures because the lighting brings such a dramatic look to the picture, and perfectly illuminates Kadin's soft features.

Now APBT Danno (i ask you since puppylover is gone :)) if you learn how to shift the sun to make natural light work in your favor every time, please share the secret.
