I just wanted to give an update on OCM and my bar shampoo I bought from Chagrin Valley Soaps.
OCM is going great. I don't necessarily see fewer pimples (especially during that time of the month), but I feel my skin tone is more even, my pimples don't stick around as long, or else I'll feel one coming up and then it will go away before it fully forms. So that's all really great. I pretty much quit using my castor oil/sunflower oil blend and am using straight coconut oil. I haven't washed my face in a month or more and its awesome. The castor oil mix felt too drying and I mixed it very sparingly. The coconut oil is working great, as I have dry skin.
I bought a shampoo bar from Chagrin valley soaps to try out. I like it so far. I've been using it as body soap as well. It suds really well, and has an herbal smell to it, which I do like. I went from using chemical laden shampoo/conditioner 2in1 to using this bar. My hair looks the same as far as I can tell. My hair is cut short in a pixie cut, so I use mousse, gel, and pomade daily, along with hairspray at times depending on how my cowlicks behave. So I have quite a bit of chemical residue on my hair every day. The only weird thing about the bar shampoo is that my hair feels waxy after I rinse it out. After it dries it feels 100% normal, but while it's wet it has a waxy texture.
I've only used the bar shampoo for two days, so if anything changes I'll update later. It's a little drying on my skin, so I may try a different bar next time. While reading the ingredients on each bar it seems the shampoo and body bars are almost the same, so I may buy a moisturizing body bar and try it on my hair nad body.
