Here's a quick recap of what happened. I've probably left some stuff out, but here' the important parts. You can go to TWOP to get a full review much better than mine.
It started out with Melinda having a dream that her friend wasn't dead, she was just in a coma. Unfortunetly, not true. Dead as a doornail.
The evil dude in the black hat was still stalking her dead friend(what the heck is her name? I forget, so I'm calling her HDF for 'her dead friend'.) and trying to take her soul. HDF started beliving him and for a while there we all thought she wasn't going to cross over.
Meanwhile Melinda goes to a college professor to find more info on Evil Dude, the professor is a jerk, they eat chinese food together as he tells her some useless facts on light and dark spirits. Evil dude is a dark spirit and of course our Melinda is a light one. She leaves but not before galring at the professor in disgust and telling him to find more on evil dude.
They have a funeral for HDF and she talks with her brother, they hug, it's heartwarming. Fast forward a little and she's at HDF's apartment, where evil due corners her in a closet (which by the way, she walks right into after it opens on it's own, sigh, does she have no brain cells left at all?) and he whispers sweet nothings aout taking her soul and the soul of HDF.
Melinda goes back to the shop, finds HDF there who's all scary and blue looking, she's obviously not at rest and doesn't want to cross over, she says she going 'back to the begining', whatever the heck that means.
Meanwhile, in a land far away, another guy I've never seen before spots melinda on the news talking about the crash and suddenly he's booking a trip to go see her. Who is he? We have no clue yet.
Melinda gets a call from the professor who says she must come over right away, and bring food is possible. She gets there and he has a bazzilion evil, messed up photos on his walls. Apparently they just appeared there by themselves. He also says he found more info on evil dude (ED), and he goes on to say that ED lived a hundred years ago and talked a bunch of people into killing themselves then commited suicide himself. So he's even stronger than they thought because he can get inside peope's heads and make them do whatever he wants. And of course he wants souls, who doesn't? Supposedly if he can take a light spirit's soul he'll become even more powerful. (hence the reason he's Melinda's new unwanted BFF)
Melinda talks with HDF's brother again where he says he always wanted to tell his sister somthing but never got the chance. He doesn't elaborate.
She then goes over to HDF's apartment, her brother is there too, why I'm not sure, they both think they see somene in the window. Turns out no one was there but there was a bunch of red writing on the wall. Really freaky stuff.
Somehow, Melinda comes to the conclusion that HDF is going back to where she died (that's what 'back to the begining' ment) and she runs off to find her at the scene of the plane crash. (all cleaned up and spotless. Hmm. how'd they do that so fast?)
She find HDF there, they talk, Melinda tries to get her to cross over, she's not having any of it, she confesses that when she first herd she was dead she wished it was her brother instead just for a split second and ED says she'll be punished for that, that's why she's afriad to cross over. She disappears.
Melinda talks with HDF's brother again, explains that she can see dead people, and then tells him the he needs to go back to the store with her to speak to HDF.
They get there, he tells Melinda a story about his father and how HDF wasn't there when he died. His father told him to tell his sister a bunch of sappy stuff about how he doesn't blame her for not being there. Her brother never told her.
HDF is suddenly in the room, they talk, or Melinda talks for her, she tells her brother about her momentary lapse in morality and wanting him dead, he forgives her, evil dude stands outside the shop and scowls, HDF walks into the light and crosses over. Evil dude makes some obscene gesture toward Melinda and dissapears.
Last but not least, mystery guy is at the airport and gets smushed by a car. He'd dead. One guess on who he's going to see next...
