Ok, as you know from my other post our 14.5 week old lab has a UTI. She is almost finished with her meds but tinkled in my MIL house twice and in her crate twice. She did bark however in her crate but my MIL couldnt get to her in time. She also was at the door to go out when she piddled. Not a full pee but some drops. I am almost certain that the medicine is not working and my vet will get a call first thing in the am. I am just starting to get concerned about how this is affecting the housetraining. Has anyone else had this issue before with their pup? What should I be expecting at this point? Today however she did ring her bell on her own and went out to pee and then a second time to poop. I am just worried that the UTI will void any training I have done. I just want her to "get it". Please give some advice and input.
Thanks so much.

A somewhat common thing in labs is an inverted vulva or juvenile vulva.
It can cause UTI.. and infections around the vulva.
It is really just moreless a vulva that is more sunken around a fold of skin.
Your vet can tell.
To prevent infections the best thing to do is never withhold water. And use a baby wipe to cleanse the area everyday.

I don't even know if this is a possibility with your pup, but just wanted to point it out....

Another important thing to remember if this is a possibility, is some vets want to do surgery to correct it.... and some vets don't even seem to recognize it. But in a case of inverted vulva or juvenile vulva it is best to NOT get the pup spayed until after her first heat. It usually corrects itself after being swelled up from being in heat. And if a bitch (with this) is spayed before her first heat, it can cause lifelong problems with infections.

Again, not saying this is your pups problem, just better to be aware. :)
