I always forget. it's the plant with the little blue/purple flowers. gets sort of bushy, and flowers all summer. I just divided and added 6 of these to my upper garden, and for the life of me I cannot remember what the heck it is. sorry if this pic is a little big....I don't have time to resize.

Renee, they aren't blooming yet..that's a pic from last summer. I believe they are, tho. this pic was probably early...by mid-June the plant is covered in the blooms. ALMOST a blue flower....with a violet hue. I got this from my sis, and I end up asking her every year. I figured she'd feel like smacking me in the head if I asked again. LOL it's just that every plant I put in today..it bugged me!!!!!! I always have these with blazing star...so pretty together. :)

They look like blue irises. I have some growing in my yard, they are some of my favorites. I wish they would last a bit longer but their blooms fade so fast.

no...I have iris..these get pretty big and bushy, and bloom all summer. they get so full that I have to wrap ties around them so they don't collapse in a storm. the flower on the bush isn't that big...maybe the size of a quarter, or just a bit larger. very delicate....but I don't ever notice a fragrance.

It looks like really BIG (excuse the butchered spelling) LOR-RAI-APIE.

Could that be it? I worked in a plant nursery when I was like, 14. LOL

if you think I'm lame with this..it gets worse. as I was transplanting yesterday, I noticed 3 new plants up about 7". they are not bulb plants (can only plant daffodils..all others get eaten..and didn't plant them there), they are not daylillies. you get the drift..I have NO clue. LOL yet, there are 3 in a little pattern...so I'm sure I put something there. seeds maybe? probably seeds that take a couple years to start. I am truly the strangest gardener. :) :) (I'll let you know what the heck they are.....when they surprise me with their bloom) 'Deb's Mystery Garden'...stay tuned.

I swear the sun is beating down so hard it is like a hand pushing on your shoulders. The atmospere feels thick with moisture, bet a thousand seeds burst forth today in my flower beds.

YES! that is it!! (THANKS for the pic, Jess) except that pic shows them a bit more spindley...mine are full and lush...but that is absolutely the flower! mine also seem to show as if a bit more blue than violet...but not a true blue flower by any means. OK...nice to know what the heck I have. :) :) (since now I will have 9 more) lol
