Fur/hair texture related to colour?

Hi

A breeder told me that in Lhasa Apsos the lighter fur colours are usually softer to the touch than darker colours, which feel courser.

Have you also found this to be true, and does it apply to other breeds as well?

A lot of red Dobermans are coarser than blacks, but not all. The same is also true for the dilute colours in Dobermans, Dachshunds, etc.
