Is there something your dog has done that was so funny you wish you'd had a video on him or her?

Zoe yawns like Snoopy with her tongue curled out, and one morning she let out an accompanying noise I can't even describe, but it was very un-dog like. We thought it was hysterical.

Any funny episodes to share??

Lol everyday my dogs do something funny.

But last weekend had to be Tuckers best ;).Fridays I always let Tucker sleep up in the bed with Maggie and I. Its just his special thing. Well we were all laying there and I look over cause Tucker is stretching. I half look away and then out of the corner of my eye I watch him fall right off the bed! I laughed for a good ten minutes. I guess its one of those you had to be there things but it was too funny.

Oh that reminds me that Zoe fell off the bed once, too! She seemed embarrassed, but that might just be my own projection! Dang funny, anyway.

Shameless bump, I admit, but I really love hearing these stories! Please share!

this might not be the funniest--but it does entertain me and make me laugh! I put a small treat in a shoe in the bottom of this wooden box--watching Baxter try to get it out, just is too funny!
step 1--assessing the situation:

step 2--get a closer look:

step 3--really get in there!

You know, that borders on animal cruelty, making a dog go into a box of stinky shoes for a treat! :)

Not the funniest thing here, but Gunnar has an odd quirk. Bruzer has 1, and I mean, 1 toy he likes. It's a little green stuffed frog. He's had it for years. Gunnar knows it's not his toy, but he can't resist it. We'll be sitting in the family room watching TV or something, and you'll hear this faint high pitched whine. It will go on for several minutes. You look down, and it's ALWAYS Gunnar, with the frog in his mouth, between his paws, just laying there whining. So we'll say "hey, is that your toy?" and he gives you this guilty look and then will let go of the toy and move his head away from it and lay back down, but he'll keep the toy right next to him. A lot of times he'll go to sleep with it in his mouth. It's the only toy he does that with. We think that because it's such an old toy, and he used to play with it as a little guy, that it's almost a security blanket for him. The only time Bruzer plays with it is when he comes in from eating and he's all fired up. He'll grab it and run around the room and shake it and toss it around for a few minutes, then leave it till the next day.

Baxter....very, very cute pics. I love these little stories. Dan, what a picture you paint...too cute.

It's true, every day my dogs do things which make me laugh so I can't post everything, but for an example: Yesterday, I took Lyric to the vet to get his sutures removed and first he was to get on the scale to see what his weight was. So, I point to the scale and sort of lead him on. "Ho-o-o-old it." He knows "hold it" which means hold very still. Then he got to step off to go into the exam room. But first I had to tell him what a good boy he was for holding nice and still. The tech also said, "what a good boy to get right on like that." Well, after the fuss and as we're about 3 steps away from the scale, (long, loose leash), he turned and went back to the scale and got on. He turned his head over his shoulder and looked at us. He said, "Oh, you liked that how I did that? Here.....allow me....I can do that again."

He's like that about most everything. If a big deal is made about something he does, you can see the wheels turning and often he'll do it again with this expression like, "You're darn right I can do that. Watch....I'll do it again." LOL.

Dober, it shounds like Lyric's purpose in life is to please you....or is it just to get treats? LOL!

One of the funniest things Charlie ever did was this: I was lying on the couch and he was lying beside me (this is when he was smaller!) with his head on my belly when my stomach growled. He stood up on the couch, stradling me, and started growling back at my stomach. For a second I was scared he was going to bite me right on my belly!

A funny game we play (well, I guess it's fun for me, he may just find it frustrating?) is that I put his favorite ball under a clear plastic bowl on the floor. The bowl is round and smooth with no lip or anything so he can't turn it over. He goes nuts because he can see the ball, and when he noses at it, it rolls around under the bowl, but he can't get to it. It keeps him busy for hours! He noses it all around the house, until he eventually gets it stuck in a corner or under something and I have to go help him, then I give him the ball and he is sooooo excited!

the other thing is sometimes i'll look around and he's flipped on his back, legs straight up in the air. mad look in his eyes. head flat upside down on the ground. ears flat out to the side. he looks like something out of Excorcism of Emily Rose. i tunr around sometimes and he's doing it and it almost frightens me for a second/

I think he pleases me because he has been conditioned to think the sun and moon rises on account of me. LOL. He does what has always worked for him to survive and have "the good life." And it's the same for me. I think the sun and moon rises with this dog and I've always done with him, what works for me. So, we've just developed this partnership and the strongest bond I've had with any dog. I attribute that in a great part to positive method training and narry a harsh word escapes my lips. LOL. He just trusts me and enjoys learning and working with me. So, yes...treats and other good things as well as love. Plus, it might have something to do with the breed. Dobermans are just designed to be particularly obedient and work closely with their owner.

One of the funniest things Charlie ever did was this: I was lying on the couch and he was lying beside me (this is when he was smaller!) with his head on my belly when my stomach growled. Now THAT'S hilarious!!! Was he growling in a scary way? Or just a talking way? Too funny.

And I can see him keeping very busy with that little hidden ball. I'm glad you go to his assistance eventually. LOL!

Buster has the equivilant. its an old globe of mine. its out of date so i didn't want it anymore. its took big and hard for him to pick up and i roll it around int he backyard and he gets SO frustrated with it. he chases it around and stands on it and barks at it. then one day he finally managed to get one tooth jammed in a hole at the end. i don't think i've ever seen him look so proud

Oh, he was definitely growling in a scary way, but he was only about 6 months old at the time so it was that mean puppy growl that is actually more cute than scary. I really did think he was going to bite me so I made him get off me before my stomach growled again!

That's kind of creepy Charliesmom. At six months old, they can really mean what they say. LOL.

Bradley, you have a real hunter on your hands. LOL.

This morning I had to cook some rice and gravy for the dogs cause I ran out of dog food last night and I poured it on to a cookie sheet to let it cool. It cooled into a large patty (for lack of a better term) so I just set it on the floor and Sadie bent down to eat it and all of the skin on her face and neck slides forward. She was curling her lips back but it didn't help. I couldn't stop laughing then she looked up at me with this rather indignant look on her face. I guess to be nice I will have to get her a dog dish holder.

Where we live, we have about an acre and a half of fenced in yard, and the fenced in area extends about 500 feet down our driveway where there's a gate. Last summer, I was out doing fence repairs in a far pasture, and I left the 3 Min Pins and the Rottie out in the yard while I was working. When it came time to come in, Athena, Maya, and Thor were all right there, waiting to go in and eat, but no Apollo. I called him for a few minutes, and finally saw him strutting up the driveway (Min Pins always strut, but this was REALLLY strutting...) He was dragging something as large as himself, and when he finally got to me I saw it was a big old gopher. The look in Apollo's eyes was sheer pride, but that quickly changed when I took the dead gopher away from him and threw it in a garbage can. You could almost see tears welling up in the poor guy's eyes, as if how dare I take something away from him that he worked so hard on. When my wife got home from wherever she was, he ran right to her as if he was hurt and needed comfort. After that, for about two days, he wouldn't sit with me on the sofa, wouldn't sleep on my side of the bed, basically, he was mad, and wanted to prove it.
