Fun in the forest last night!

Hi everyone:

I for the past year and a half with my goldens have been part of a small dog group. We get together almost every day for walks together. Both on and off leash. We pick a different area or trail almost every time with swimming at the end of it.

Well the group grew last night! As we were driving to our destination for last nights walk I saw a woman with a golden puppy. I of course stopped and said geez your pup looks exactly like the two of mine (which are brothers!) She said whose your breeder? Come to find out our dogs are all brothers! So she joined us on the walk. Small world huh?

Then as now 5 goldens romping in the forest field another woman stops with her two airedales and states "are your dogs friendly"? And asks if hers can join in! So two more.

Then as we were walking up the gravel roads a small yellow lab puppy and his owners approach "our gang" so long story short. They join in!

Now we all exchanged numbers, e mails and plan on making this a weekly event!!!!!! Yeah. My pups sleep so well last night upon their return from their totally awesome play date!

That is such a great idea! They just love it, don't they? Every time I see my babies racing around with other puppers at the park or the river it just lifts my heart - there's nothing more uplifting than watching your babies having the time of their lives - pure joy on their faces. Nothing beats it!

Thanks for sharing - I'm inspired to go and organise the same thing around our area!

You all are so lucky to have that where u live. Here where i live there are too many stupid ppl and most the dogs are dog aggressive and ppl aggressive. The majority of ppl have pit bulls that are raised to fight. It's just so sad. I hate it. The other day when i took Boozer and Macho to the park we were walkin down the new trail that they made and towards the end there were two guys letting their pit bulls bite eachother up. I yelled at them and told them i would call the cops (from a distance of course) and they kind of started to come towards me. Me and the dogs ran. I called the cops and they came, but of course nothing is really done. Animal cruelty is so common here, but nothing is done about it. It makes me feel so helpless. I say to my boyfriend... "At times I wish we had a dog park, but at the same time when i come back to reality... we wouldnt be able to because those stupid ppl would let they're dogs loose and let them kill every other dog." Sigh..
