I know some people here add fresh food to their dogs' regular stuff. So I'm wondering, what do you add?

I basically add whatever I find in the fridge and is okay for dogs. They don't get it every day, usually only once a week I'd say. They got some cooked chicken, pumpkin and apples today.

Yeah my dogs get ... whatever... as long as it's not toxic and it's not cooked bones. I baked them potatoes the other day and they love that. :D

Since I used to feed barf, mine are used to eating almost anything.
I still add something raw to every meal they eat.
Eggs, cottage cheese, all kinds of fruits and veggies, raw beef, chicken, organ meats, milk, canned salmon or sardines, ect.

my dogs love raw chicken. they have decided that they don't care for carrots. lol (I used to pre-cook them a bit and put them in the blender) guess they are tired of the carrots & apples. even dogs enjoy variety I suppose! they still love eggs twice a week, and their vanilla yogurt daily. But, I stopped putting onions in dishes...so they also get 'whatever'. last week they adored chilli (I don't make it spicy, we're wimps) BOY...spagetti is the big pleaser!!

My dog loves carrots and raw brocolli :p I will usually steam the vegs before giving them to her, but she will try to sneak and snatch the brocolli before I cook them :p She also gets daily vanilla yoghurt & apples with her pre-made raw

I throw Sardines, salmon most fish, yogurt, cottage cheese, crushed flax seeds, wheat germ, fresh ginger root, fresh Yucca root, garlic, sweet potatoes, all veggies, all meats except pork as shellfish as I never eat these myself. Just about anything healthy goes in, and since I eat only healthy organic real foods, my diet works perfectly for my dogs;).
I try to feed one raw meal a day, I blend veggies, whole egg with shell, tofu, etc.

I also have this weird habit that I never mix fruits with meals:) I was reading a human holistic book that said for humans it's best to eat all fruits together with perhaps yogurt and don't eat a meal for at least 20 minutes after eating fruit. They also mentioned to drink only limited amounts of fluids with a meal as well.

I recall their reasoning being that water and fruits (fruits containing a lot of water) will dilute the digestive juices and lead to digestion problems later in life. So, I follow this rule for myself. I don't think it's mandatory it's just habit for myself and I follow it for my dogs.;) . It seems to work, my family has a history of acid reflux and other digestive problems, I seem to be the only one who doesn't suffer from digestion problems:) My whole family eats healthy, so, the only thing I can think of is the fruit. I really follow this with my bloat prone dog...it's just one unnessassary step I take as a preventative.
