and you are very right in doing so.

This is how word gets out and helps owners take the necessary precautions (even if those necessary precautions are not to feed the treats or food ever again) to avoid feeding their dogs accidental items.

Houndedbyhounds had a thought.. she thinks it kinda looks like the tags they use on livestock. I was originally thinking some sort of machinery part, but it would make more sense that it might be a livestock ear tag or something.

Most livestock ones (that I have seen) are not metal, they are made of a plastic material... but who knows.. that is just awful either way you look at it

I'd check the food you eat too . . .i once found a piece of glass in a sandwich from a very expensive caterer . . . and I found it the hard way too . .there's just no telling.

absolutely a good point. it was a good reminder to be careful with all foods, regardless of the brand.

ive found weird items in lots fo things including not only dog food but human grade meats.

looks like an older ear tag to be truthfull.

its such a shame because merrick food and treats are actuallly awsome grade.

the good news is customer service is great, if you asked for your money back theyd send you a check for the amount imediatly!
