Oh some are adorable. Some don't look like they have poodle hair at all though, I wonder what rescues are thinking sometimes, lol.

I wonder what they're breeders are thinking - they're the ones that created the dogs. That's fourteen dogs I found in one search :( makes me sad.

Yea, it is very sad. But, hey, those breeders got their money and that's all that matters right? <<Note the sarcasm :D

I would adopt them all if I could. We need doodle rescues, can you imagine how stuffed they be though?

Some were very cute dogs but I would take my standard any day over them. Atleast the listings said poodle/whatever else mix in the listing though (although they were usually called the labradoodle, or goldendoodle in the information).

So sad !!! Throw out something new or cute and different and the BYBs grab it ..... then the rescues have to step in. Everyone having a litter should pay somewhere !! The up- standing breeders would gladly do it ( I know I would have.. and did in some ways by paying more taxes for un spade/neutered dogs ( 1960s) ....what are the rules today ????

on petfinder type in german shepherd, gee your gonna get like 5,000 dogs that come up. what does that tell you? it says that most dogs in shelters or up for adoption are german shepherd mixes, not labradoodles. these new mixed breeds only make up about 1 percent of unwanted dogs out there.
get over it allready. your all going on about these new mixed breeds being sold for profit, and not for anything but your gonna make people want them.
those pictures on petfinder are adorable. but post something more realistic, like a shepherd mix that will be left behind once someone sees those labradoodles

I was at petco one day and I had my boy with me, he's a little large for his age and a woman with a black standard poodle asked me if I had thought about breeding him to the poodle, I turned, looked at her and said HELL NO!! She asked why and I said that 1. what she was asking was unethical, 2. she didnt know my dogs history and I did not know her dogs history, 3. She was going to sell the pups for $1,000 each and split the money with me, I still refused. I told her what she was doing was basically taking a mutt and put a high sticker price on it and try to pass it off as a "pure bred labradoodle" when the reality is that the litters would be mixed breeds, aka mutts, what you find on the street, shelter, or pound. Needless to say her face turned red with embarrassment and she turned and took her dog to the car while I went to find some Kongs.

yes they are mutts. and i think it will take many years before they are even considered a pedigree if that even happends
if a fool wants to pay that much for a mutt then let them. the problem is why do people get these puppies and any other puppy and then they end up in shelters. you shouldnt bother bickering about back yard breeders and stuff, its the jerks who buy them and then decide its too much for them to handle.
this is why i get a little angry.
people buy whats "cute" and these new mixes are adorable. i know theres many dog lovers out there who keep their dogs until the very end but its sad to say that i think theres more people who buy on a whim and then turn them over to shelters.
if spay/neuter laws were enforced maybe this would make a difference.
you have to think, at least these dogs were surrendered and not just dumped along side of the road, or beaten to death. theres alot more going on than we know.
you can say its the breeders fault, they may have something to do with it, but when someones an alchoholic do you blame the booze? no, you blame the person, and in these cases its the people who purchased then abandoned the dogs who are to blame

LMBO!! Do you not realize that these are FOURTEEN dogs in ONE search? I can type poodle and any state and I come up with at least ONE of these unwanted doodles.

Maybe by posting this and maybe by posting AGAINST doodle breeding, someone will adopt these dogs and will NOT support doodle breeders.

BTW, nice user name - very kind. "Ew your poor". (it'd be "you're" though :))

i wish i could adopt one, maybe oneday i will.
i was looking at the links you sent and i noticed on one the adoption fee was $500 dollars, i understand that this goes towards the shelters donations but dont ya think they are taking advantage of this "breed(mix)" also? by asking so much? because other mixed puppies the fee is much lower
it was for the poodle golden mix puppy

They probably had to spend a lot on medical bills and other bills to take care of the puppy, so that's why they have such a high adoption fee.

these pups were not sick. heres the petfinder note on him

Notes: We had 2 Golden Doodles (Golden Retriever / Standard Poodle) puppies turned over to us because they were getting too old for the broker to sell. They were born on 06/17/05. They are crate trained. We are socializing them, letting them play with the "big dogs" and getting them used to being indoors. They will be neutered when they are 4 months old and then we are looking for a GREAT adoptive family. They are micro-chipped. The minimum donation for Charlie is $500.00. If you are interested, please fill out the adoption form at www.dirksfund.com and we can schedule a "meeting".

looks like their making a fast buck on them sorry

I have been wanting to adopt a standard poodle/retriever or standard poodle/spaniel mix for months. Looking within 250 miles of our home in eastern Minn. I just don't see them. Pit Bull/GSD/Husky/Rotty/terrier mixes abound (not the dog's fault, but thses breeds seem to atrract owners who are not up to the challenges they can present to inexperienced/misguided owners). If I do see one, they are adopted before they even hit the adds. I saw the golden/poodle mix on your list that they were asking 500 dollars donation (huh?, at a shelter?).
