I might be weird, but I like "Leaving" threads, just so I don't wonder why someone just up and disappeared one day....
I have no problem with "Leaving" threads. I have problem with "Rage Leaving" threads.

Honestly, if she wanted to leave, she should/would/could have said "I am leaving. If you want to get ahold of me, here is how". Not cause drama.

I suppose.

Either way, for my part at least, I'd still rather her not leave....

I feel bad, I mean I likely contributed by saying how I felt in the dewclaw thread, I have also had the month from He!! and am 3 days into quitting smoking so when I saw this thread, I thought… Uh Oh my bit$#@ness is showing through… LOL

To the op if you go that is too bad, but I agree not everyone will find every forum 'home'. There are a few forums that I just don't fit in at. (ie everyone loves one style of training and no one is allowed to say anything else, not even to have a spirited debate...) If this forum and its members bother you then by all means find somewhere else to hang out.

If you do think you want to stay, wait a couple of days and re read that thread. It seemed you were taking a lot of things personally, things that weren't even directed at you as a person. Around here a thread is like a conversation at a party. It might start with a couple of people and on one topic, but as people join and comment it can take interesting turns. That has nothing to do with the person who started it. Also if you stick around you can see that people who are friends, actual friends, can have opposing opinions. And as long as no one dismisses the other one's opinion (or mistakes opinions as facts, facts are what you back up your opinions with....) we get some good rip roarin debates. But its not personal.

Not everyone can handle that and assume disagreement = dislike.

I really dislike the "I am leaving because your meanies" threads;) Go,stay, just send pm's.

Its a forum. Sometimes you need to take a step back and breathe a bit before coming back to the computer. There is a lot of information here and to turn it all down because some people don't agree with your view point is sad. But it is your choice to come here or not and I am not going to beg you to stay.

Hope the pups stay healthy and good luck!

I like leaving threads too because I'm usually so oblivious to the drama in various threads (took me seeing this thread to realize the dew claw thread was at 25 pages) that it clues me in to go look for it- hah- so I don't feel so left out!

daschunds (I can't spell that)- try not to take it too personally. There are some very extreme dog owners on here who I don't necessarily understand (but respect and appreciate most of the time), and I do think certain posts were overly aggressive towards you, but try not to take it personally. I think sometimes people just like to argue. People get bored. It sucks, but I don't think any less of you for what you posted- I thought your arguments back made sense and sounded educated. I do understand how it is a terrible feeling to feel like you're being targeted in a forum- almost like you're back in high school- I feel you- but try not to let people get to you. There are all types of dog owners on chaz and you've just go to tolerate the most extreme to the least.

just for the record. I love to debate. Its never personal, and its never due to boredom. I debate topics where I feel strongly about.

I am sorry if she felt targeted. But I will not apologize for any of my posts. I was not targetting her, nor attacking her. Perhaps attacking some inconsistencies in her arguments or faulty links, but never her personally.

Other posters will have to say what they mean. But to whom ever is reading this (and might not know this all ready) in a debate I will attack topics, arguments... and will be polite as long as everyone else is lol. But never people.

Oh I think most of the posts were civil- there were a few posts I read in it that turned me off- that's all- not yours I don't think. I like to debate too usually- no harm in that sometimes!

In my experience, this situation has happened on EVERY SINGLE FORUM that I have EVER been on. Not everyone has the same opinions or agrees with everyone else. None of us think the exact same way about anything. I'd wish you good luck finding that magical place where it's all puppies and rainbows, but that place doesn't exist on the internet, at lest not on a forum. These same issues will crop up on every forum you visit.
