Well, I only have Jackson right now, but I stay at my dads house a few nights out of the week and have since he was 9 weeks old. Originally they just had their JRT mix Lily... when Jackson was a little pup, she was very motherly to him. They would snuggle in the same bed, etc. Once he got older, it wasn't really like that anymore. But Lily would get really sad when Jackson left. Then my dad and wife adopted Buddy, a Doxy mix, when Jackson was around 6 months old and it kind of changed the dynamics of everything. Now those 2 have each other all the time but honestly, they could really care less about each other. I think Buddy especially would be perfectly content to be his mommy's only boy.

Auggie LOVED both Kota and Happy but it was a different relationship with both.

Kota was Auggie's hero. He followed him everywhere, he would imitate him even. If Kota was out sniffing somewhere Auggie wanted to be there sniffing too. If Kota was out by the fence barking Auggie wanted to be out by the fence barking. He'd watch Kota and do what Kota was doing.
I still remember taking all three dogs to the dog park one time. Auggie was seven months old I think so he was still intact, and an intact puppy was apparently SUPER interesting to all the dogs at the dog park. They all were crowding him and Auggie was totally overwhelmed by like fifteen big dogs all poking at him and sniffing him, so we went off to a part of the park where there weren't many dogs around, and Kota came following with us (Happy was off sniffing somewhere by himself.) Well, one big dog came all the way across the park (it's a HUGE park) at Auggie - and Kota just casually placed himself in between the big dog and Auggie and basically body-blocked him from getting to little Auggie. My sister and I looked at each other like "Holy crap, did you just see that?" I've never seen a dog do that before but it was pretty unmistakable what Kota was doing. They had such a unique relationship. It wasn't really playmates though they DID play sometimes. The first time they played, my mom was back in the office and the dogs were out in the other room, and she started hearing scuffling, so she went out in the other room and found Kota chasing Auggie around. As soon as Kota saw her, he was like "Whoops!" and quit playing and tried to look like he hadn't been, LOL. He would play with him after that and it was no big deal, but they had lived together for MONTHS before finally playing.

Happy, OTOH, was the playmate... somebody to chase around, somebody to pester, somebody to pick on. I wouldn't say Auggie loves Kota more than Happy but they served different purposes to him. The first thing Auggie thinks of when he sees Kota isn't "PLAY," but that is the first thing he thinks when he sees Happy.

I think Kota liked Auggie plenty, but I think poor Happy didn't particularly care one way or another if Auggie was there or not... he'd play with him and have fun with him and all, but I don't think he especially enjoyed Auggie's company, LOL. As for Kota and Happy, I think Happy is really attached to Kota but I think Kota is kind of glad if Happy isn't around... but he is the grumpy old man who doesn't play much anymore, especially now. It was nice to have Happy and Auggie together, because mostly, they would play with each other and old man Ko didn't have to be bothered. They were a really funny little family unit when they were together and they did tend to move around in a little herd. I sure miss having all three together. =<

ETA: I should note... my mom put the Fetching tags we bought for Happy & Ko in a box and put them under the Christmas tree. She then discovered Auggie had taken that box out from under the tree and was laying down with it between his paws. He's NEVER pulled a gift out from under the tree before or even messed with them. It was so weird. I'm sure the tags smell like dogs since they came from Jen and she has dogs, but it was the most unusual thing in the world. It was like he knew where it was going and he was like "Here I'll deliver it!"

Not really. Rumor enjoys playing with Dane, but she doesn't necessarily follow him around or require his presence on any of her adventures and wanderings. Dane, on the other hand, is attached to Rumor. I think that has to do with his personality though. He always just kinda wanders around like he's... lost. You come home and he's confused as to why you're coming through the door. He never wags his tail. When Rumor gets excited that I'm back, he assumes it means she wants to play, which then causes her to rip him a new one and he's absolutely puzzled as to why she did it. He's honestly the strangest dog I've ever met.

When Neon was alive, he and Argon were buddies, which suprised the heck out of me. They would cuddle and play together, as much as Argon played with anyone. Then Neon passed, and Argon grieved a bit.

When Grimm came, I thought Argon would appreciate a buddy again, but no dice. He was never aggressive to Grimm, nor did he push Grimm away if Grimm wanted to be close, but he didn't seek him out either. When Grimm left after 8 months, Argon couldn't have cared less.

He hated both puppies, but I knew he would, and that they were very temporary, so I wasn't too bothered by that.

I'm hoping he likes this new dog, but we'll see how it goes...

Awwwww....I love all the pictures. Elegy! That is precious. And Myhorserules...priceless. Isn't it amazing when we can actually capture some of those moments on camera?

Thanks Whisper. They are precious, aren't they. Yeah, Jose` is unique, not only physically, but he is such a one-of-a-kind in personality. I've had people ask where I got him. They pass by Chulita but say they want one just like Jose`. LOL. He is the essence of a byb Chihuahua. Chulita is from the same byb, but she looks more normal. lol.

Nope. LOL Chloe and Rose...tolorate each other, at best. We've had to break up quite a few fights between them when one of them gets snippy over something and the other doesn't want to take it. We don't leave them together if no one is at home to supervise. Rose would be very happy if Chloe was gone, and Chloe wouldn't mind Rose being gone, either, although Chloe likes having a dog buddy...just not a dog buddy who doesn't play with her and won't take sh!t from her.

Blackie and Rose were close, I would say. Not inseperable, although almost to that point. Rose got depressed when Blackie passed and didn't really perk up and act normally for a few weeks. But they were also a father/daughter pair and Rose had been with Blackie all her life from the moment she was born. Blackie was much less attached to Rose and was fine not being with her as long as he was with one of his people.

This might be the cutest thing I've ever seen!!!!!!

I only have Chloe, but when we have other dogs over, either they ignore her or dislike her. I'm not sure why. She's really playful, and likes to get in other dogs faces. But she's never been aggressive toward another dog - ever. She loves playing with them. It's just that the few dogs that we know/dog sit aren't very tolerant of her. I think she'd adore a puppy.

When we had the three dogs, Dixie, Lucy, and Holly, it was weird. Holly didn't much care for the little dogs. Probably because I never really kept them together as much as I should have - because of the size difference. Holly liked Lucy, and Lucy didn't care one way or the other but Dixie stayed away from Holly so they just ignored each other. Dixie and Lucy were ALWAYS together, from day one but yet they fought - a LOT. They were weird....

Lol that's probably why they're not fond of her. :p Juno is very friendly and just wants to play, but she can come off a little strong sometimes and a lot of dogs just say NO THANKS to that.
The puppy crowd is where she's popular, and Juno looooooves the puppies.

LOL! Yeah. :rofl1:

I meant to separate the "I'm not sure why" and She likes to get in dogs faces". :p

What I should've explained more is that these dogs are usually really hyper and playful, but not with Chloe. And I don't get it. Especially my friends dog, Daisy. We dog sat her recently, and she DESPISED Chloe!!!!!! And she's the most hyper, in your face dog I've ever met! But she gets really shy and almost fearful around Chloe! She even snarled and snapped at her several times.

I don't think Chloe really "gets" dog language though. Like I said she doesn't have any boundaries when it comes to greeting dogs, she just runs right up to them and stuffs her face in their personal bubble. I'd be pissed too if I were them. And the main thing that worries me is that when Daisy was snapping and snarling at her, Chloe just kept smelling her and getting in her face! If it had been a big dog, Chloe would've gotten her face chewed off probably.

I've never seen Chloe around puppies, but I think she'd get along with them well because of her "in your face" kind of attitude. She's really playful and likes to put her butt up in the air, and pounce on other dogs and stuff. There's only one dog that enjoys her company, and actually plays WITH her, and unfortunately she lives 3-4 hours away from us in Alabama! :(

Bandit didn't really give two hoots about Miley. Spank was erally close to him but Bandit has been so much happier as an only dog.

Eh, it goes one way. Maggie LOVES Reecie, but Reecie is easily annoyed by her. When Maggie goes on a day trip, Reecie is more than happy to have the house to herself :p

Yes, Although Teagan is my dog I still live at home and my parents have Emme.

Emme and Teagan are attached to the hip. They are like doggie soul mates. I have no idea what I am going to do once Teagan and I move out. Or how Emme is going to handle it.

I might have to take Emme with me... Yah right....

Baxter and Traveler were like little lovebirds--Baxter doted on Trav, and she loved it. Then enters Wilson..... while Trav was still alive, Baxter really protected her, even though he would play with Wilson--his loyalty was to Trav. Now, since Trav is gone...Baxter and Wilson are often together--And I catch Wilson licking Baxter's face, and vice versa.

Sawyer, Morrison, and Grace all LOVE each other. Where one goes the other two will most likely follow. Occasionally Grace is the only one in the mood to play. And is truly bummed when both of the boys would rather cuddle with me on the couch than play wwf smackdown in the living room with her lol. Out of the three of them, I think Morrison and Grace are closest because they are closer in age and still have alot of that teen energy. But yes those three are very bonded.

Maggie May really only wants to be with me. She will cuddle with the other three dogs and occasionally may initiate play. But for the most part she would be perfectly happy without them around.

Though usually atleast once a day I find them all cuddled on my bed. Sawyer and Maggie May dote on each other the most, grooming each others faces and ears.

Dally and Quinn are pretty close. Dally is very much "big sister" to Quinn - she's very gentle with her, Quinn gets her confidence from Dally, and I have no doubt that Dally would protect her should the need arise (ex. neighbour's dogs wandered and came on our property last week, our dogs weren't out but I'm confident Dally would have gone after them had they been). They play together a lot, share toys, and Quinn tries to cuddle. LOL, Dally's a bit of a social reject (she's been an only dog since my childhood Aussie passed away) but she's learning. She used to get up and walk away when Quinn would try and spoon, but now she's a little bit more comfortable.

This could very well change as Quinn matures but they'd definitely miss eachother, right now.

Frodo and Mollie completely ignore each other 99% of the time. Even if they are both on leashes waiting to leave the house they pretend they are not bumping into each other, lol.

Once in a while Frodo will put in a valiant effort to get Mollie to play with him, but her response is along the lines of "oh hellz no puppy!!" lol

Fortunately, mine are very close. I've never had one in the group that didn't mesh with the others. I feel for those that have to rotate to keep the peace. :(
