Well Mack is a pitbull american bulldog mix. He definetely has the look of a pitbull, sometimes when he stands at attention he looks american bulldog though. He acts like both of them though, he acts just like a...BIG BABY. Maverick is SUPPOSE to be a collie/husky mix but I'm not sure. He has the coloring of a collie and I would have to say the additude of a collie and a little husky. He LOVES to herd and he's like 10 weeks old only. But him and Shelby are both big attention hounds and if they aren't th star of the show 24/7 they will cry until they are.

We think Wendy is quite a few breeds than the owners said....her tongue has purple spots ever since we got her! Here is what I think she is:

Black Lab
Australian Shepherd
Rottweiler or Doberman
Maybe Chow

She acts like a Black Lab and Australian Shepherd

Mordy and others,
You may never know what is in your babies' bloodlines. But at least you love them! And that is all part of the fun of owning a mutt. Guessing what they are made up of.
i adore my mutt. :)

when i went to look for a dog at the L.A. city shelters, i had a very specific list of criteria for my new dog. now, 3 1/2 years later, i can say all but one of them were met 100%. the only thing that isn't spot-on is his size and weight, i had expected him to top out at about 14 inches and 20-25 pounds. that's no big deal tho. :)

i'm working on making him a good example of the fact that you don't need a purebred dog to be involved in lots of fun things. we are well on our way to competitive obedience (UKC allows mixed breed dogs) and rally.

short plug in favor of active mixed breeds: support UKC! the breeed snobs at AKC do allow mixed breeds to participate in the CGC program, but after that you're SOL. UKC allows spayed/neutered mixed breeds in almost all performance activities (obviously not conformation), such as agility, weight pulling, obedience, etc.
