Sorry I've been gone so long. Sindra's puppies have been a handful lately.

Anyway, my mom's five dogs. They've gone insane. I swear it.

Dottie and Arson - the two dalmations: They're howling they're heads off, running up and down the stairs for no apparent reason at random times. Then Dawson, the rottweiler, ends up growling and in a very mean mood for about two hours after they stop.

Dawson - the rottweiler: He's totally changed. He went from fun-loving, curious lug to suspicious, lazy dog. I just noticed this maybe two days ago when my older niece came over. Dawson didn't jump up on Penny, bark, or make a fuss. He just watched from the stairs, giving everyone suspicious looks, everyone except for me.

Charolette - the akita. Okay, she isn't that much trouble. But she tends to growl at the dalmations during their howling fits.

Jake - dear gosh, he's the worst of them all. He's insane. He went from puppy mode to calm mode and then went back to worse than puppy mode. He's hyper, jumps up on everyone and I've tried every trick in the book to stop it. He's also chewing on a lot of things and is figuring out how to open cabinets and rumage through them.

I realy don't know what's making them do this, but I need advice on how to make it stop.

All the dogs are spayed/netured, except for Sindra and her pups, of course. When I leave I crate them now, because I'm afraid their weird behaviour will get out of hand and one of them may end up hurt or worse.

Sounds like the Rottweiler needs some fun in his life...some one on one..a good, fun run, some obedience games/practice, some exploring in the woods?

It sounds like they could all use some good, hard exercise to get the zoomies out and some mental stimulation.

It sounds like you have your hands way too full. I'd be going nutso for sure. That's a lot of work. Those dogs need to get tuckered out and get some more structure in their days....things to do outside, things to work their minds and bodies. I hope that can be done. Good luck.

I agree with Doberluv.

How much excersice do they get?

My dogs get really tired if I let them search for toys i've hid. It's not the running around but the concentrating in the search which makes them tired and fulfilled.
And maybe something safe to chew on or a kong toy could keep them occupied. My dogs get sleepy from doing that.

Yeah, how much exercise are they getting? Dalmatians in particular were bred for LOTS of exercise because they were guard dogs for carriages . . . so they had to run behind carriages for miles and miles.

Maybe do something like agility with them that will give them exercise and provide fun for them too?
