I found a bunch of these while I was working with Buckshot on our property. Any of you know what these are and if they are edible? I know many of ya wanna retaliate for the joke things but this isnt the place to do it!

don't try to eat them if you're not sure that they are eatable. maybe you could bring a "friend" to your place and let him taste firsts ;) if nothing happens to him... you can eat too :p

Ohhh... do be careful. I wouldn't eat them unless you were certain they were safe.. there's just too many poisonous ones out there that I'd be afraid to take a chance.

The only type I have ever gathered or eaten from the wild are "dog dicks" (that is slang obviously, and I don't know the real name) and they LOOK like what people call them.

Those are not it :)

Ok don't eat them. I don't know for sure, but they sort of look like the type in the stores, but I wouldn't take the chance.

I was watching a show about mushrooms a few days ago actually... they said something about trying a strange mushroom to see if it's poisonous, break it up and smell it then wait 15 minutes or so to see if you have any reaction, then touch it to the tip of your tounge and wait to see if you have any reaction, then chew on it and spit it out to see if you have any reaction, etc.

Morels are considered a real gourmet mushroom. The chef I used to sell blackberries to wanted me to see if I couldn't come up with some wild ones or grow them for him.
