Flood damage at our Park.....some pics of the dogs too

This is the park we go to. We had a lot of rain here lately and our little creek at the park (Drakes Creek) basically overflowed with a vengence. Our walking trail was damaged....fences were mangled....ball fields were flooded.

Another park of the park that is up near the main road that goes through town the water covered the whole park and was up to the main road....(they had to open the dam or else our big city would have flooded though I hate that they feel that we have to be flooded....our waters had already risen pretty high. And memorial park across the street was completely flooded too (we are a lake community)

Anyways here is the after math....it smelled like dead fish I'll tell you....the dogs didn't mind though.

Anyways major clean up is going on but its a big job. Just wanted to share

The fences were completely mangled I guess due to the surge

This is pretty high up the creek normally sits about 4 to 5 feet below, it washed away parts of the asphalt.

Those peices of concrete are on the soccer field and they are from the trail

Yeah we are going to have to find a new place to walk for a week or so but they are pretty good at getting things cleaned up. But we are expecting more rain so hopefully it won't be as much this week as last. Hopefully they can get the park up and going again. The other good walking trail we have is the Greenway and that is a 30 minute drive (which is fine but gas is going up again and its so crowded. Its a 4 mile trail so we like it but sometimes it can take a lot longer to walk it than it should (we walk at a fast pace, we have a very high energy girl) But we will do that one until they get our trail fixed here. But that will be a weekend walk....we will just walk around the apartment for now.

This is Sasha with my Dads dog Juliet, they are just hanging out watching tv. (Sadly Zack is the only male dog in the whole family so all the ladies kind of find him as an annoyance at times, but I promise you he does not mind being the only male)

Wow, a lot of flood damage. Is the mini golf course still open?

Yes but they shut down during all the rain.....It never made it up on the road next to the mini gold course and Kroger.....
