I posted this on another pet forum but haven't gotten much response yet. I have a friend that now owns a kitten we had born here awhile back(i'm not a breeder it was just an accidental litter) the kitty is 7 months now and they recently put a flea collar on him. As i recall flea collars are toxic to both pets and humans especially children but they won't take it off him unless i have proof of this because ofcourse they believe they're always right.

Anyone have a link to an article i can print to get them to take that dang thing off my poor baby?

Not only are they toxic, but absolutely useless in preventing fleas. They still usually have them on there body just not around there head. Why don't you google some info on the web and see what you can find.

I don't know about cats ... but they're worthless for dogs and I sure wouldn't want any kids coming in contact with them !

I buy flea collars and cut them up and put them into the vacuum. Any fleas that are picked up will die in teh bag then. They put too many toxic chemicals onto that one certain spot on the animals neck continuously.

Yes they are toxic. I know a number of cats anyway that have died from them.

DITTO!!!!!!!

USELESS.......Why subject the animal and kids to pyrethrins???????Especially if they are not effective against flea/tick control.
