Flat Coated Retrievers

Has anyone here ever met a Flat Coated Retriever? There is one next door and is really adorable, I would like to know more on the breed.

I've never met one, but they're supposed to be super dogs! Just a golden retriever with a black coat!

I'm looking at buying a FCR and went to a breeder to meet some. They were terrific dogs! They seemed smart, fun, caring, and didn't shed as much as Goldens that I know. I don't know that I'm going that route for sure, but it's my first choice. I may also get a Labradoodle from a breeder (just to pi$$ people off from this site! ).

they are awesome dogs, but many bloodlines are very, very prone to cancer.

Beauty of a dog, I have never seen one. But, if they are like Goldens, I know I would love them! Goldens are just gems. At least the ones I've met.

I used to work in a boarding kennels many moons ago when I was a kid, and loads used to come in. They are friendly lovely things Different looking to the Goldens I think personally. Longer faces or something!

I HAVE A FLAT COAT NAMED CINDER. SHE IS ABOUT 18 WEEKS NOW. I LOVE THE WAY SHE RUNS. ALTHOUGH IT'S NOT REALLY A RUN IT'S MORE OF A *STEP* *STEP* *fLoP*. LOL. I LOVE FLAT COATS. THEY CAN LIVE TO BE UP TO 17 YEARS OLD. WELL THATS HOW LONG MY LAST FLAT COAT LIVED TO BE. HIS NAME WAS CHARR( CHARCOL) HE DIED OF CANCER. BUT IF HE HADN'T GOTTEN CANCER,HE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE LIVED MUCH LONGER THAN HE DID. I LOVED HIM SO MUCH. BUT NOW WE HAVE A NEW FLAT COAT TO LOVE AND CARE FOR!!!!!CINDER

I've never met one, but from pictures , it seems they can either look like black setters or black goldens. In the AKC site, they look more like goldens. Lovely looking .

My dads friend has a 9 year old Flatty named Bert he is an awsome dog so good natured and sweet. He was his hunting dog now he is just his pet and friend.

Well I Just Think That Flat Coats Are Very Kind, So Are Golden Retrievers.my Family Owns 6 Flat Coated Retrievers. Mine Is Named Cinder. I Got Her About 2 Months Ago.
