We did it..

It is our first day doing a raw diet... We bought whole fryer chickens, they were on sale, so i chopped em all up, and started her..

Luna is 15 weeks tomorrow. OMG. :yikes: She acted like she had never eaten and wanted MORE MORE MORE... and now she is on a mad search all over the whole house, juuuuuuuuust in case we may have possibly hidden chicken around.. :rofl1:

Lets hope this goes well.. I went back and forth on doing raw vs kibble.. and decided to give this a go..

YAY! How cute that she loved her food so much she searched for more! I have so many people mistake this eagerness for hunger (thinking "She's still hungry, I have to feed her more") and have an impossible time trying to explain that they just LOVE raw!

Congrats! glad it went well for you! I have one, who I have to watch close while she eats because leftovers get stuffed in couch cushions, bed comforters etc.....:lol-sign:

LOL.. Eek.. There is no way she is hiding her "left overs" as there are none to speak of.. Haha! She definitely is a fan, and ewwwwwww she sure liked the chicken livers we added this morning..

I DO have to admit, I gagged a little while hacking up the whole chickens last night.. and if we're being TOTALLY honest here, I coudlnt eat the chicken that was supposed to go on my salad after I prepped her dinner...

Now if only chopping up a candy bar had the same effect on me... LMAO! ;)

You don't need to add any organs for at least three to four weeks. Once chicken has gone well for a week or so, add turkey. After that add pork, then beef etc.. Once you start adding organs, you won't need to feed them but about once a week or so.

Best of luck!! We started raw feeding a couple of years ago and will never go back. It's been wonderful.

P.s. I find handling meat rather disgusting as well lol but you'll get more used to it!
