I found a dog browsing through the garbage this morning while walking past the dumpster at my apartment complex to do my laundry. She has a collar but no tags, so I'm taking her to the vet's office when it opens to get her scanned for a microchip. She's brown and white, maybe about 45 pounds, with a little tartar buildup on her teeth. She's super friendly but pretty mouth. I know a lot of people right now are having to give up there dogs because of the economy, and I'm in GA where the shelters are overflowing, so I'd appreciate some good finding-owners vibes!

Oh wow! I hope she finds her owners. I bet they live somewhere around there. You might try flyers too if she doesn't have a micro chip. Good luck!

No microchip was found, so I will print up flyers tomorrow at work and call the shelters when they open tomorrow. She looks well cared for, so I think someone is probably looking for her. I let the leasing office at my apartment complex know, and the lady said that last time this happened, it took the dog owner (might be a different dog though) a month to contact them!

Grammy, they don't use tags or chips just like our chocolate lab that we rescued and gave a good home. The owners don't want to be found. Our lady was used for breeding and when they were done with her, drop off time!

I've been posting flyers, so hopefully I'll hear something soon! I wish people would use tags and chips too. She doesn't seem like much of a roamer (if my dog ever got away, I wouldn't be surprised if she turned up in a neighboring state), but I'm not sure how far she is from home.

I'm going away this weekend, so I'm really hoping to hear before then.
