Well, my friend got some hamster mix and i add fresh fruit and vegis to it every night.

Plus, i did do the research, i didnt say i didnt, i just wasnt sure about my cage. Please ask before you criticize me. Thanx! :)

No, hamster food is not okay for rats. Its very very unhealthy for them. Any rat research would have told you, lab blocks, or suebee's mix. It also would have told you no pine, and any rat site says rats NEED companions (Which it didnt sound like you were thinking about by your first post.)

Mirg, hamster food is not okay. And I just learned that even those bagged food for rats isn't all that great either. I have heard that the best to do is a homemade diet.. I'll get Squidbert to post her info, she's been very helpful to me!

Good luck and please, ask as many questions that you have! There are people here that are willing to help! Kay, Squidbert and others are very knowledgable!

You have to do proper intros to successfully have your ratties living together..

What a cutie! Good luck with caring for him! I've only had Gerbils, and Hamsters (My parents can't stand the naked tails) :rolleyes: I personally think they are cute. ;) I couldn't help you with care info, but I can tell you he is adorable! :p
