Hi, I've posted here a couple times without really introducing myself, mostly because I was a bit flustered trying to find a new dog and such, but, now that she's here, I feel introductions are in order.
About me: I live in SC, am in graduate school, ride horses and pretty much just love my dogs.

Shadow: HI!! I'm 9 or 10. Mom found me on the side of the street when I was a puppy. Someone tied a ratty old shoelace around my neck. I didnt have any hair and was infested with all kinds of things. Mange, ticks, fleas, worms - you name it, I had it. Mom took me to the vet who said they had to give me a chemical dip because all the fleas and ticks and parasites were killing me, but I was in such bad shape the chemical dip might kill me! Well, they gave me back to mom who took me home to "wait for me to die". SURPRISE!! All my hair grew back and I gained weight and now I'm happy as can be. I'm not all that smart, the vet said so many parasites affected my development and I didnt get enough nutrients as a baby. I'm also a little hard of hearing, but look into my eyes and all you'll see is LOOOOOOVE! I'm great at sleeping and watching tv and barking at mom when she tries to sleep in. I also love to walk. No running or playing, but I'll walk for hours, its the best. Now that I'm old I get a little grumpy when another young dog tries to get in my space, but those younguns just dont pay attention and they might step on me. I think its probably nap time so Im gonna go lay down under moms chair so its really hard for her to move around.

(mom likes to dress me up in whatevers lying around the room. I kinda like it too. Im so handsome)

New Dog - I dont have a name yet, but thats ok. Im also very tired from my exciting day of leaving animal care and control. They tried really hard to give me a good home but I had to stay outside all the time and its so hot out. I dont quite know what to make of my new home, but I love my crate and my bed, so nice and soft and safe. My big brother seems ok, he's not really interested in me but he did let me take a nap near him so I think its gonne be fine. Walking on the leash was scary but it was better when I could follow behind my brother since he knows what hes doing. I like my new toys and mom says soon we're gonna start obedience classes, whatever those are, but she promises that Ill get lots of treats. I hope my first night goes ok, I might get scared but moms a light sleeper, so she'll wake right up. I cant wait to see what I look like when Im older.

:p Hello & welcome to the forum. I think it's cute having the dogs introduce themselves. You have a lovely family. The pup is gorgeous, I can see a little boxer in there. Any ideas on names yet? Maybe you can ask for help from the members.;)

I would love help with names!! Any and all suggestions welcome. Just a note, i tend to like two syllables ending with y or ie, dont know why. My roommates dog is named brie, but for some reason i must call her brie-brie. Shadow, actually called monkey on a regular basis. Its an odd little quirk of mine. Our other dogs - argie and ebie. Its just awful. : D
