River reminds me of Buddy'sParents' Bella. :)

Gracie does NOT look amused, lol, and Fi :rofl1: That face! He's doing his best Pitbull impression :D
lol, Gracie Is very...Well lets just say shes always on guard... She will pace the house all day and all night...If i'm outside with her all she does is sit by my and she will not move... River is a little more on the fun side..unless your a stranger lol. And Fi well she is something else... She looks like a mix but shes pure bred and so goofy...
Both her and Gracie came from Sentry kennels Filas, They are the granddaughters of Guapo, From lone Wolf Filas.
I've wanted to show and breed dogs for the longest time. And I just fell in love with filas. I lived in S.C so Lone wolf was close...I bought River. Then i got Gracie and Fi. I would love to get some CAFIB imports tho one day. :)

The females, in my experience, have a more serious streak, even though they do have that warped, Fila sense of humor. Their humor just runs more to the dark side, lol.

The dynamic I've noticed is very much like a pack of lions. The females are always on the alert and the males come in as needed.

@Renee. Yup i agree, Gracie is very serious, Maybe even a little to serious lol. She has put the fear of god in some people, And we don't take her into public. River is a goofball and i can take him into public and i can have people touch him as long as he goes up to them first. Fi..well i'm not sure how to label Fi. I know *True* Filas are not supposed to be black and i have leaned that its do to other mastiffs being mixed in with the breed along time ago
but shes a good girl and i know a lot of people like the *Black*fila. But shes more goofy then River. I got River and Gracie to breed but after meeting Fi i fell in love with her goofiness.

There are true black Filas where they originate, in Minas Gerais, just as their are predominantly white with splotches. ;) The "standards" we have today are in large part due to the efforts of Clelia Kruel, who did a great deal toward the conservation of the Fila. She also had some of her own ideas, though, as most of us do ;)

ah! Nice to know! I have been so confused Lately with Fila standards, I have people telling me Fi is not a true Fila but i have other people asking if i'm going to show her and wanting puppies from her.. She has one small white strip under her left armpit. Since i was 14 i wanted to breed and show dogs, I'm 25 now, And i've ALWAYS loved mastiffs and apbts (Not the bully/pit wannabes). And i really wanna breed by the correct standards.But CBKC and CAFIB.. still have me confused...I'm not 100% sure what standard mine are. I think Lone wolf filas is CKBC...They are fci and arba reg. I just know i love them and i know my family and i are very well protected ^.~

Personally, I want to go back to the more traditional breeding standards: is it a Fila on the INSIDE, first and foremost. Is it healthy, mentally and temperamentally sound, courageous but not stupidly so; does it have the correct speed and agility and instincts. Is it capable of doing what a Fila is supposed to do.

I have my issues with all the registries, frankly ;)

@Renee again i agree! both River and Gracie are very true to there tempers, very courageous and sound very healthy, (i try to keep mine slim.) (My dad has even worked River on his farm with his cattle and pigs.)
Fi I think she has a lot of puppy left in her (she acts like it) she can be a little jumpy at times to.And shes just dorky lol

River reminds me so much of Titus. Cute pictures. I do love seeing Filamonster pictures. It's always nice to have another Fila person join the forum. I hope you will hang around.:)

@Filarotten
Love the name! lol
I plan on sticking around :) Love to meet new Fila owners. Such a special breed that's for sure. I honestly don't see me owning another breed lol.
