Hi all!

I posted about 6 months or so ago about a female Rottweiler I rescued. I fell in love with this girl from day one and was dead set on keeping her despite many recommendations that with already having a female that is same sex agressive that is really might not be possible. Well, I have worked and worked with the two girls and have finally decided it will be for the best to look for a home for my new girl.

She is great with with other dogs (other than my older female Lucy) and is just such a joy. I have really learned her true personality over the months and while she can be very territorial like most Rotties are, she is just sweet to the core.

She needs someone with previous experience with the breed, or a similar breed. I am looking for someone myself and not going through rescue because I want to be completely involved with her adoption.

If anyone is looking for a dog that will keep you on your toes training wise and really has the time to devote to a strong willed female Rott please PM me for more info. BTW, she is really food motivated so any training that has already been done has been a breeze!

TIA

Shes beautiful. I'm sorry you aren't able to keep her as planned, but I hope she finds a good home!

I wish I could take her, but I can't with where I'm currently living. :(

Good luck placing her!

Thanks everyone. :)

On a side note, with all threads going around about rehoming dogs I just wanted to mention for those that don't know me I rescue dogs that have either been abused or abandonded. In this case she was surrendered by a lady who just couldn't keep her becuase her daughter had a baby and she just couldn't keep up with her. Btw, her daughter doesn't even live with her. But I think the lady just wasn't prepared for a drivey, active Rottweiler. All the more reason to make sure she goes to a home that knows Rottweilers are a strong smart breed. They need lots of structure and most of some type of a job or alot of mental/physical stimulation.

I thought I could manage the situation but my female Lucy is getting on in years, and with her stong same sex aggression I don't think it's fair to either one of the dogs.

Out of curiosity, any idea how she is with cats/how old she is?

She is about 2 years old. Spayed, up to date on all shots, HW negative, and is doing just great with my cats. She is also great with other dogs. :)

Well, she has finally been adopted out. ::D
She's has a great home with a young couple that adore her. She is treated like royalty and is already enrolled in obedience classes. She is the only dog, sleeps in her owners bed and is living the good life. :D
I cried for 2 hours after she left and still have had a crappy day today, but I guess that's part of this type of work. I have been constantly repeating to myself that it is for the better. :)
